Two notable Resident Evil sources have stated that they have heard that the eagerly-anticipated Resident Evil Veronica and the Resident Evil Requiem downloadable content won’t be featured at Gamescom this year. The news was announced by DuskGolem and Screenfire Germany. The reason is that Resident Evil Veronica is apparently currently deep in a crunch phase that will determine its release date.
Silent Hill Townfall is confirmed to be at Gamescom, but Resident Evil Veronica is not. And I would’ve assumed it’d likely be at Gamescom due to Requiem’s marketing, buuuut I’ve been hearing it’s likely not. I don’t often get great insight into Capcom’s marketing plans, I don’t have that direct line & that info is often time sensitive, which is not how I work. But I do know quite a few people, I do keep a tab on both public & private murmurs, & I’ve been hearing Resident Evil doesn’t have much of a public presence at Gamescom (likely will be a closed door thing for previews later), mainly since both Veronica & the RE9 DLC are in heavy dev right now. Maybe we can come back & laugh at this, but that’s what I’ve been hearing in the grapevine lately

I do not know Capcom’s marketing plans, but I have been hearing in the grapevine lately that Resident Evil Veronica nor Requiem DLC are really going to be publicly present there. Veronica is in a crucial crunch period that’ll determine when its release date is right now, so I do tend to believe these grapevine rumors may hold merit to them. While I’d love to be wrong here, & again I don’t know Capcom’s marketing plans, that’s what I’ve been hearing around the grapevine at least, & it unfortunately does add up with other things I do know.

What I’ve also heard … there are no press appointments for Veronica at Gamescom for hands-on play. So, I asked many people who are also working journalistically there, whom I know, and no one has a press appointment. No one has heard anything about it. Nobody knows anything. So, it’s really true, Resident Evil Veronica will not be present at Gamescom. Neither for journalists nor for—in quotation marks—normal Gamescom visitors.
