The footage looks like the end of a Smash Run game. Basically the last bit of the free for all to decide the winner.

I guess Smash Run was also based on City Trial.
Smash Run was my first time experiencing the style. I did play City Trial with a friend later though, and my brother and I played Air Riders together last year. Great game mode.
