The Guardian got a teaser taste of eagerly awaited The Duskbloods during a trip to Japan and reported that the build said that the game releases on 24th September. Eurogamer has reached out to Nintendo to clarify whether the date is correct and was told that the specified release date is inaccurate. Whether the game does release on 24th September remains to be seen, but it seems fairly soon given the game has only just started running its closed network test.
“The release date is inaccurate because there is no information regarding [the] release date of the Duskbloods.”

I am still thinking it’s releasing early november or late october at 50$. If I am right, I will rename myself to FrostTheHate.
That’s an interesting mix-up, but I’d definitely take Nintendo’s clarification as the more reliable information for now. A September 24 release always seemed surprisingly soon, especially with the closed network test only just getting underway. It’s possible the date in the build was simply placeholder information or an internal target that was never meant to be public. Either way, it’s encouraging that the game is far enough along to be tested publicly. I’d rather have Nintendo take its time and announce a firm date when they’re ready than rush the release.
