US: Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card sales increased by 631% in 2026 so far

The NPD Group which tracks video game sales across the United States has revealed that Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Cards in the USA have seen a 631 percent increase in 2026 thus far. It’s not clear why they’ve seen such a huge spike but there have been a few big releases on Game-Key Cards for Nintendo Switch 2 such as Pokemon Pokopia, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and more. Plus the Nintendo Switch 2 continues to pick up in popularity, so there’s that too.

  1. I think that RE Bundle and the FFs probably played a big role in that lol, I do recall having more 1st party titles than 3rd in 2025, but in 2026 we’ve gotten a flood of 3rd party releases with GKC physicals, I remember the ones I named being out of stock everywhere for a while

    1. Of course not. All they have to do is:

      A. Lie out their ass and pretend that everyone is okay with this crap
      B. Make everyone retarded enough to buy these things.

      I’d sooner buy digital than a G A M E – K E Y C A R D .
I hope you lose all your games!

  2. I mean not that many games were that popular on game-key card last year. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I think the sales for some of these games would probally be even higher if some of these games were truly physical.

  3. Digital just keeps winning! ✌️😄

Digital/Game-key cards just can’t stop taking those Ws! ✌️😁
I love the sight of phystards seething about the inevitable all-digital future coming their way, never stops being funny. 😄

  4. There are more GKC’s out today then since release and with like 80% of all switch 2 releases being GKC this number makes sense, I’d never purchase a GKC myself but a casual player, a kid or person getting a gift for another that doesn’t understand the difference would. Without context this number seems staggering, but it’s just like the number of digital vs. physical copies of games sold.
