Smash Bros Creator Masahiro Sakurai Caught Sneaking Into Platinum Games

Masahiro Sakurai, the creator behind Kirby, Smash Bros. and Kid Icarus Uprising was caught sneaking into Bayonetta development studio Platinum Games. Sakurai claims he was there purely to see what the studio was preparing to show off at E3. I wonder what his true motive was?

    1. MGS Rising Raiden as Snake ‘Remplacament’ Confirmed.

And Bayonnetta as ‘reveal’ characther for the new Smash Confirmed too… wow Sakurai , which surprise here

    2. That wouldn’t be up to him anyway. I guess they are friends though.

Even so, it’s a multiplat game, so it’s nothing a Playstation fanboy can brag about.

      1. No he originally want a ‘spy hand to hand brawler’ and only one nintendo characther can full that requirement…Joanna Dark(why the people forget about the mine and the cloaking devie in Melee and in the japanese version they mention from which game they come) but them at the same time… the buyout of Rare by Microsoft was in their first phase(the Stample Bros shares… Yamauichi doesn’t release his shares until they finish a game for nintendo… Dinosaur Planet now rebootled as Star Fox Adventures: Dinasour Planet)

And at the same time, the Kojima son who become a fan of the original Smash Bros beg to his daddy to put Snake in the Upcoming smash(melee) but was late to Mr Kojima, but Sakurai still like the idea and them for the next version and when both Kojima and Nitnendo heal old Injures… Snake come to the brawl.

    1. Hmmm…. That would be interesting. But Smash Bros seems to have stepped into having guest characters, aka Snake. So maybe. :)

    2. Bayonetta wasn’t in any Nintendo game, wasn’t she ? I would find it weird if they would use a character in their game which wasn’t even on any of their platforms before. Really weird, to be precise.

          1. Any Metal Gear game not endorsed by Hideo Kojima is not a genuine Metal Gear game. Stop being so fucking stupid and respect that the first genuine Metal Gear game was on the MSX2, NOT the NES.

Also, exclusivity? Are you kidding me? Back then there wasn’t much breathing to go multiplat.

        1. The originals were on the NES, Twin Snakes was on Gamecube, plus Kojima and Miyamoto are friends. In fact, Kojima is probably friends with everyone at Nintendo.
So of course Snake was in Brawl.
Personally, I want Raiden for SSB4. His electric sword is so awesome.

          1. Eeep nop, Kojima and Miyamoto are NOT friend, they never were(Kojima Insult Miyamoto back in the 80′s when he was(and is) the nintendo public face for the port of Metal Gear in Famicom(who Kojima Called ‘bad product) and them implode when Konami promise to the Famicom a Sequel without him.

He was friend of Sakurai Enough to BEG,yes BEG and them as Sakurai being the ‘Protege’ of Iwata, their idea was accepted

    3. Actually, since Bayonetta wasn’t on a Nintendo platform she won’t be in the next game.

Masahiro Sakurai stated that he will only include characters that have appeared on any Nintendo platform you know like NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Gameboy (Colour/Color, Advanced), DS, DSi Ware, Wii Ware, 3DS, 3DS Ware.

Sorry but its true, its more likely that Raiden or Old Snake will probably make an appearance

        1. You lie!

It was the best game in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          1. I agree, it was a hell-a entertaining. Honestly, I liked how “off” the story was but how it still fit. And gameplay was just a guilty pleasure.
Also, imagine the Madworld black and white stage. That would be AMAZING

      1. Because that game sucked and is the perfect example of “just becuase it’s M rated doesn’t mean it’s hardcore”

  1. Maybe Smash Bros 3DS is gonna be a beat’em up and he was looking for someone who knows this kind of things…

    1. Isn’t Super Smash Bros. already a beat’em up?

I could have swore that people fighting in an Arena type setting counts as a beat’em up

      1. Well, the subspace emmisary is actually a beat em up. The normal free for all, classic game modes are not.

  2. Umm,,, Sakurai declared he want to be more ‘third party’ happy with characther now he want to make more different both version of Smash Bros… SO Bayonetta as the new roster Addition CONFIRMED…

  3. so he can give them advice on how to fuck up the controls of their games..! like kid icarus uprising (good game but ugh the controls..!) and SSBB (floaty jumps).. you know im right and even if you hate to admit it you agree with me..! Olalu..!

    1. I disagree. Both games controls were perfectly fine for me. But I am right handed so I don’t know about left handed controls :P

    2. Controls were your problem, not his, Super Smash’s “Floaty” jumps work fine, and even if you disliked it, you could change the gravity settings, and Kid Icarus’s controls were strange, but I caught onto them very quickly, and in all honesty, I don’t see how else it could have worked.

      1. I know it was said there wouldn’t be a sequel to Uprising, but Wii U would have been the perfect controller for that scheme. The charger is an instant stand, and no one can say it’s too compact for its own good like some said about the 3DS.

    3. Nah, I liked the controls in SSBB (Samuri Sumo Battle Brawler) and Super Smash Bros Brawls controls too. I don’t see what’s the problem? You made bro or are you just plain trollin’ ?

        1. No im not trollin.. I hate trollin guys..! I just stated my opinion and found out that i was wrong thanks to you guys that shed light to me.. Olalu!!

            1. I did like Melee’s physics a bit more.

On the contrary, Brawl is the better game because of the additions it brought forth. Stage creator, final smashes, 3rd party support, a story mode (though mostly silent), and bosses. Not to mention wifi (though not the best).

If SSB4 improves on the physics and what has made SSB great (as well as fill up the weaker “gaps”), it’ll be the best one hands down. :)

Brawl isn’t perfect, but it isn’t far from it.

    4. No you are wrong, you arrogant fool.

The control in Kid Icarus: Up rising just took time to get use to and once you did the game was fine.

And Smash Bros Brawl floaty jump is what made the game balanced and then I didn’t even notice the floaty jumps.

        1. “you know im right and even if you hate to admit it you agree with me..!”

Sound like an arrogant fool to me.

So I didn’t insult him but merely told him the truth.

          1. please don’t insult me.. i just voiced out my opinion bro.. and you guys made a good point and I realized that thanks to you guys.. I don’t want any trouble.. Olalu..!

            1. even if there are problems on some nintendo games which is natural because no one is perfect i would still continue to buy them.. because i love nintendo ! but we also have rights to voice out our OWN opinions right.. after all we do have different preferences.. but we have one thing in common though.. we know good games that’s why we are supporting nintendo all the way.. OLALU….!!!!

  4. -crosses fingers- Bayonetta in SSB, Bayonetta in SSB…..OH GOD I WANT BAYONETTA IN SUPER SMASH BROTHERS.

    1. Sorry to ruin the magic but since she was not on any Nintendo console.. she won’t be in the next Super Smash Bros

    2. She’d have to be censored/reworked to the point of being a completely different character. You’re an awfully shallow fan if you still want her after that.

        1. Yeah but those aren’t 1st party games, how many FIRST PARTY nintendo games (even if it had 3rd party support) are gory?

    1. LOL! He then snapped the neck of 2 security guards before hiding in a cardboard box and making his escape.

  5. Or, you know, maybe he really did want to see what they had going for E3. We’re getting to the wire now, I’m not surprised the tension of waiting for the companies are up the ass.

  6. I’m guessing the smash clone got to him (hopefully it hit a nerve that superBot is using 3rd party characters) that way sakurai tries to outdo SuperBot and gets A LOT of 3rd Party Characters for the Next Smash.

  7. Hopefully, Platinum and Nintendo are working on something together and he was there to iron out any hiccups before E3. I would love to see a Bayonetta game on the Wii U. Maybe even see some of it’s characters in the nest Smash Bros. game. Leave luck to heaven.

  8. In 2010 the head of Platinum Games said that he would want to make a new Star Fox game. “I want someone from Nintendo to come to Platinum, point a gun and say, ‘You people make the the new Star Fox game.” This could be a stretch but what if Platinum Games was making a new Star Fox game? Stranger things have happened. And since Sakurai was at the Platinum Games’s Studio, there has to be something behind the scenes between Nintendo and Platinum. Otherwise they wouldn’t be so hush hush about it. I guess we’ll find out at E3, but as of right now i’m guessing Platinum Games is making a new Star Fox. As for what Retro could be working on, my guess is a new Metroid. Who knows, could be the other way around, but something is up. We’ll find out at E3. Leave luck to heaven.

    1. Exactly what I was thinking. RETRO is definitely making a Metroid or Zelda game..I wouldn’t be surprised if Platinum is making Starfox….can’t wait till E3 2012

  10. Wait, Okami was developed by Platinum Games before they where even called Platinum Games. So could this mean that Amaterasu could possibly be a third party character that is going to appear in the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros 4.

  11. i always thought it was a cool idea for there to be something like a Nintendo Vs. Capcom fighting game (or some other crossover)

but then i wondered if they would actually put Capcom girls into a Nintendo game with the way they’re dressed and all

  12. Nintendo needs more 3rd party characters in smash bros …they need banjo and kazooie , some final fantasy characters , sora , Jill and Chris and leon from resident evil ..and yeh…but Microsoft bought RARE it could be hard for them to put banjo and kazooie in smash bros but it’s possible

  13. Reblogged this on The Primed Metroid and commented:
Heh, this looks interesting. Hopefully, we can see a future collaboration with the two companies? Plus, given the two track records, I hope they can create a triple-A game on over in 2017, at the earliest… I hope, lol.

  14. Nintendo is horrible for 3rd party they’re politics are crap and the little kids that buy wiis dont cant play mature content am glad crysis turn their back on a tyrannical shit of a joke company

  15. Nintendos a lying bunch of pricks their tech is nowhere near an iphone 2 what a joke innovation my ass. Btw rob was a stolen from atari robot productions . Source kotaku atari robots

  16. Yeah nintendo innovtion theives they blatanly stole from atari those ungrateful gooks after atari let them publish some games from them like donkey kong. Die miyamto die

    1. Shut the fuck up!! So, you like sony, Microsoft, and apple??? They are all saints and have never done a single dirty business tactic, they have morals like you troll dick!
