Amazon Germany have tentatively posted a release date and pricing for Wii U. Amazon Germany has the console listed with a €399.99 price tag, and a release date of 21st December. Nintendo has yet to confirm a release date or pricing, simply saying that Wii U will be out this holiday season.

i do not think it will cost 400… i would buy it for 400 euros if euro and dollar were the same but for 400 i would buy it in America… but it wont be 400.. i HOPE

I know the prices are never direct conversions, but the amounts in Euros and Pounds are closer then the amounts of Pounds and Dollars. 400 Euros is £320, which is insane, I was hoping between £250-£300 absolute highest.

Release date seems very off, that would make it very late for Assassin’s Creed 3. Plus that price would be very expensive, even rivalling the PS3 launch price. I severly doubt this is the case.
I am still going to stand by my belief that it will release on the 31st of October for Assassin’s Creed 3, and it will have a launch price of around $350.
$350 is too high. $300 is what it needs to be, so that’s my prediction. Also, Nintendo stated it’d be out during this holiday season. I.e., November through December.
$300 in my money is £190, which is less than what the 3DS was launched for. Even though $300 would be amazing, I very much doubt it will happen.
They also list Nintendo Land as a standalone game – so, if this turns out to be true, the bundle is out of question, which blows. Plus 69€ per game is quite a steep price! (It’s more expensive than most games on all the other systems.) *hmmmm*
You have to keep in mind, people, that the Wii U has to be able to run next gen games, so it is reasonably priced, especially when compared to 720/PS4 prices, which I bet will be a minimum of 500$.

Seems like a lot of money for a new extra screen controller for the original Wii.
*Sigh* The Wii U is not the original Wii with a new controller, its a whole new console, with new capabilities that features a new controller that can do many new things, but I wont go into that.
Now about that price…its pretty suspicious. Why would Amazon list the “price” of Wii U not just once but twice? Something’s a bit fishy… Call me crazy but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a company in the shadows bribing Amazon to list false prices to try and deter potential buyers.

This is too false. The release date is too close to Christmas, many games were out before then, and the price is almost compearable with the JVC X’Eye and the PlayStation 3, with the ridiculous price of 599 US dollars.
GUYS at E3 2012, when they were interviewing the director of batman Arkham City Armored Edition, the guy said it comes out on launch! The poster behing him said “Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition…FALL 2012”!!!!! Meaning October-November!
You have to remember that Fall doesn’t end until December 20th or so. That means it could still release in December and they wouldn’t be lying. Dumb idea to release it so late but still possible.

I think the price is quite good… Think about it, it’s a last gen console with the last things it can have… And something people are not seeing is, that it comes with the game pad, which is NOT just any controller, sony’s ARE simple controllers, microsoft ARE simple controllers, even wii’s ARE simple controllers just diferent from regular, but the WII U game pad is A TABLET… THAT is what people doesn’t see, how much did you think it will cost? In other words, it’s like getting a really good console with an ipad or any good tablet… Think about it…

I don’t think the date is right, it would be most likely to be Late October to early November when they release the Wii U
Amazon is nuts. December would be a bad idea. Too many issues since Christmas is right around the corner and the amount of parents fighting would be huge. Bigger then the Tickle me Elmo fights. Also around that time most foiks are traveling to see relatives so i doubt they will say “hey i will wait on line for the wii U the 21 and then take a flight the day after” not happening. The prices seem too steep too. So my gut feeling is they will release it in November before black friday here in the states(which is the start of the Christmas shopping season)

You guys do realize that even though Nintendo land is a stand alone game It’s still possible to have it as a bundle look at all the other bundles they all contained stand alone games too. I predict that the Wii U will price at $250 and also have a bundle with a second game pad and nintendo land for $300.
That would be nice to be able to pick up second game pad as a bundle. I’m with ya on the pricing; I believe all these rumors are helping N to play it safe. It’ll be earlier and cheaper.
