Nintendo Gamer Subscriptions Will Be Changed To Official Nintendo Magazine

We heard a couple of weeks back that UK publication Nintendo Gamer will be closing its doors primarily due to diminishing sales within the print sector. Well, those that have a subscription with Nintendo Gamer magazine will now have their subscription automatically moved over to the Official Nintendo Magazine. Those of you that have subscribed to Nintendo Gamer should be receiving a letter in the mail informing you of the change over.

    1. Nintendo gamer is a shit magazine.

they hand out the shittest reviews ever . every review i read i am like ‘wtf did they just give an awesome game a 7 and a piece of shit 8.5 ???” .

Nintendo Official magazine is awesome. i have years worth of subscriptions. and i hope they never go bust or at least do online thing.

nintendo gamer is a seriously awful version of ONM . nuff said.

  1. Fuck, Official Nintendo Magazine is just full of empty white space to make it look like EDGE, the covers are terrible and the writing is hopelessly biased. I loved Nintendo Gamer. So sad to see it die.

  2. Recieved the letter on Monday.

‘I hope you enjoy your time with Official Nintendo Magazine. It’s got jokes and everything. Honest’

  3. Seriously who still buys magazines when game news is UP TO DATE online?!? ONM are always slow when it comes to delivering gaming news..

Official nintendo mag? Pa hah ha!

  4. Despite what many people here thought of Nintendo Gamer, I liked their reviews, I didn’t agree with them, but they’re very straight with you, and very critcal. I often see as game with scores of 70-80 and think it’s a great game. They try to give a general view, obviously, if something is your niche, you’ll like it more.

ONM UK is still great, both magazines were a pleasure to read, not for news, but for the features and the reviews. When it comes to reviewing in ONM UK, there isn’t a monetary bias, they review the game as a single item, hence why NSMB2 got such a high score, it could be seen as almost the same game, but as a single item, without thinking of the Wii or DS games, it’s fantastic, so it’s review reflects that. Though I will say their scores are often more generous then critical.

On a final note, I do recommend the Nintendo Gamer website, Chris Scullion, it’s writer, is probably one of my favourite journalists going, I love this site too, obviously, but these articles are neutral (which isn’t a bad thing!), but if you want content with a more comedic edge, give it a try.
