Pokemon developer GameFreak’s mysterious new game has been revealed as Soritia Horse for the Nintendo 3DS eShop.  The game is divided into Solitaire Phase and Control Phase. The Solitaire Phase allows you to play solitaire to improve the bond with your horse and make them run better. The Control Phase sees you use the touch pen to navigate the courses, reacting to certain parameters and course attributes. Races continue by switching between phases back and forth. In the final stretch, you use items and power you collected along the way, plus a whip to send your horse over the finish line. Raise your own horse, turn it in to a QR code and share it with others.  Soritia Horse will be released on July 31st on the Nintendo eshop for 3DS in Japan.

  1. To be fair, the Japanese do love their Horse Racing almost as much as the British do. It’s a huge sport out there.

    Not for me though.

    1. I had a World History teacher who loved Horse Racing and I think Solitaire too! Too bad he doesn’t even know what “Nintendo” is. I bet he’d like this game :P 💋

    1. I agree. Nintendo should FORCE Gamefreak to make a Pokemon game on the Wii U with graphics and artwork as good as Monolith Soft’s “X.” They should also make them do full voice acting for the Pokemon to match the anime and the battles should be more realistic. 💋

    1. GameFreak only not too long ago reorganized its inner production team so that it could work on more than one game at a time, so as of now, we only have HarmoKnight and this as a result of that reorganization. Give it time. Since this game’s out on July 31, I expect that it’s already done and only going through the testing and marketing phases and that the secondary team at GameFreak is already starting their next project.

  2. If it’s as wacky and fun as HarmoKnight, then I’m down.

I’m glad Game Freak is beginning to make games other than Pokemon now.

    1. GameFreak has two production groups inside their company: one team works on Pokemon, and the other new team works on something else (HarmoKnight, this). If the Pokemon team was working on X/Y, why would you expect to see a Stadium 3, which were developed by Nintendo EAD and HAL in the past.

  3. I wish they wouldn’t build such a huge suspense over games like this one… I mean, I’m sure it might end up being a very good game, but they made such a big deal out of it that everyone created very big expectations and now it’s hard not to feel disappointed. It’s like DKC Tropical Freeze… I’m sure the game will be excelent, but it’s not a surprise that its reveal left so many people (me included) a little disappointed. And that’s very unfair to what looks like it will be a beautiful and incredible game.
They should know better which games deserve building suspense and which don’t.

      1. Yeah, no doubt about that… I feel I have to be prepared for a heart attack for when they reveal the new Zelda for Wii U xD

    2. Did they really make a big deal out of it? They just put a webpage with some words and a silhouette of a chibi horse. This is NOTHING compared to the TWEWY countdown Squeenix did.
They didn’t build up any hype. Fans overhyped. That’s all.

  5. I was kind of nervous they were going to do something drastic with the Pokémon franchise, so im kind of happy to see they didn’t, but they really made to much of a deal for a concept like this, it would kinda be nice if they made Harmoknight 2 or something, but what did they mean when they said a beloved franchise would be reborn? did they mean the game of Solitare?

  6. Might try if it make it to the west, I like to try new types of games. Thats why the wonderful 101 looks so fun! I’m so tired of playing the same games with updated graphics.

  7. seriously… thats it? how mighty boring…

“the well known game, played all around the world, is about to be reborn thanks to a surprising collaboration”

    1. “The biggest scoop of the century” IS Pokemon related. This was confirmed not to be Pokemon related. I have no idea why people thought it was Pokemon related…

  8. To those who are angry and think this game is lame, remember that GameFreak is a JAPANESE company. Horse racing is still a big sport in Japan, with more than 21 thousand races occurring each year (that’s more than 50 a day!) on average.

Probably one of the directors at GameFreak was inspired to make a game based on a popular hobby and voila, this game was made.

To those who don’t know, GameFreak has two internal development teams. One works on Pokemon, and the other works on non-Pokemon games, the first of which being HarmoKnight.

Since this game has a July 31 release date, it’s probably safe to assume this game has left its development stages, have passed Nintendo’s testing stages, and GameFreak has begun working on their next game.
