Mario Party: Island Tour Delayed To 2014 In Europe

Nintendo of Europe has announced in a press release today that Mario Party: Island Tour for Nintendo 3DS will be delayed to early 2014. The game had previously been scheduled for a November release, with no official date confirmed. The announcement comes just after today’s Nintendo Direct revealed that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Wii U, which was scheduled to come out early December, will also be delayed, until February 2014. It remains to be seen how Nintendo’s holiday sales will play out after these delays. No word yet on whether the company can still meet its projected November 22nd date for North America’s launch of Mario Party: Island Tour.

  1. Please also understnad we are straying from the old successful mario party formula and creating somthing fans will hate

  2. Wtf is up with the delays? Nintendo might have a record of the most delayed games this generation, please understand

  3. They can probably not release it in US this November, if it’s because of development issues they delayed it, as they stated.

  4. Dammit, there goes one Wii U game and one 3DS game I was going to buy. Well, more time to play the other games!

  5. super disappointed..
Mario Party is one of those games which (to me) make no sense on a handheld, i’d very much prefer to play this on a console

and..in my opinion (unlike mario kart, smash bros., etc.) this game (if they’d release it on a console) doesn’t need online multiplayer
it’s one of those games which is SUPER fun in local multiplayer, but an online mode doesn’t make sense to me for this type of game

    1. Phazoonn, it is because they know it isn’t a system seller. At least, that is my opinion as to why Mario Party isn’t getting attention.
