Nintendo 2DS Sales Shot Up 64 Percent In The UK

nintendo_2ds_upright

Nintendo 2DS sales in the United Kingdom have shot up by sixty four percent week-on-week. This means that Nintendo’s latest handheld comfortably became the best-selling console last week without including the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo 3DS XL. The console was originally meant to retail for £110 , but last week a number of major retailers including Amazon and Tesco cut the machine to under £100 to coincide with the school half-term.

  1. Nice even more and more people just keep forgetting about the Wii U if this keeps up it will soon be discontinued and Nintendo will go 3rd parties for consoles which is a yes for me

Even if the Wii U fails, Nintendo won’t go third party. You’ll probably be dead before that happens..

The fact that you’re basing this “idea” (because that’s all it is) on the success of the Wii U, shows that you’re completely delusional.

              1. Its not an idea its a possibility (a great one too) and that fact that you don’t think they can go 3rd party just shows how delusional you are

                    1. Don’t make me laugh. A few hardcore Sony fanboys will buy the PS4 at launch leaving it with next to no customers for the next year or two until actual games which may interest people come out.

                    2. Remember when people wanted to buy a console at launch that costs 499$ and it just has a few ports that can also be playable in the PS3?

Because it’s hard to see that happening.

                    1. Sorry to burst your Sonyan bubble but your Sonyan Legion just dropped 11% in stocks in Japan…

                    2. Strange and scary that PS4 drops in 17 more days yet no signs of PS3 sales slowing down. Interesting.

        1. Hahahaha, no. Your ignorance is fantastic.
There are many stops on the way before they get out of the console game.
First they’ll reorganise the company structure, start doing things differently, then if need be they’ll scrap the wii u and launch a new console (maybe 18 months from now at the earliest), and that will more than likely turn it around.
          You’re kidding yourself mate.

      1. there is a higher chance of nintendo going first party but handheld only. plus, the wii u is starting to get a little momentum from zelda and pikmin and mario should help later this month along with mario kart, more zelda, and smash bros next year..

    2. Ignoring you said Nintendo is kiddy yet you want Sony Microsoft to change their reputation from FPS bloody to kiddy now huh?

    3. Have you ever said that Nintendo’s games is kiddy games ? Since so many people that say that have also been complaining that Nintendo have to go 3rd party so they can play they’re games. Many of todays “Gamers” seems quite weird.

The day Nintendo goes 3rd party is the day the earth gets nuked by meteors and explodes. Which means they never will. Since then we all are dead.

    4. Ignoring Wii U is selling about 60,000 units a month since October when bundles and price cuts were announced, that Q2 needed in September. But you rather play dumb as if it included October. Isn’t today Nov? So why would they release October if it was Halloween Yesterday?

    1. They’ve shut down the spotpass features. Streetpass still works apparently.

In addition to their reason given of some users sharing inappropriate material, it could also be that they’re getting ready to launch Miiverse on 3DS and are getting rid of these older sharing networks in preparation for Miiverse.

Or it could just be the misuse thing.

      1. Streetpass is of no use when all your friends are hundreds of miles away.

As far as no more Flipnote 3DS (maybe just no sharing), google it, it’s just a rumor, but would not surprise me.

    2. not all of flipnote, only the friend community. and with swapnote, its only good for streetpass now so….yeah, practically useless.

  2. Good news. I knew it would sell, Nintendo handhelds always do. Now, I really hope the Wii U picks up in the coming months!!! *Crossing My Fingers!

  3. I wonder what this means… Maybe Nintendo’s next console (9th Gen) will have the Gameboy feel? Kind of like what they did with evovling GBA to GBASP with the 2 sides, then came DS. Then 3DS, 2DS, Next console??

  4. HAHAHAHA.

A fail, they said! Stupid they said! I bought one and I’m fucking happy with it. Best Nintendo protable in years. Took it right in the ass, internet.

  5. I tried the 2DS and didn’t like it! Feels too cheap in my opinion.
The odd thing is: I don’t come to every website, complaining how shitty Nintendo is and how pathetic their fanboys are, I JUST DON’T BUY IT, IF I DON’T LIKE IT! (luckily, I have a 3DS XL)

Now let me continue waiting for “A Link Between Worlds”…

People with the mental capacity of boiled potato could see that it was a smart move… some didn’t ; )

    1. Peanut Butter Kit Kat

It’s always been a no brainer, 2DS was always going to do well… No 3D, durable, cheap, released before xmas alongside Pokemon X&Y, and there were people scratching their heads on this one?

You think that people would have learned their lesson from when they were so quick to write off the 3DS..
