A rumour is circulating the internet that Minecraft could possibly coming to the Wii U, according to an undisclosed retail source. The game is apparently under development by Mojang and is expected to coincide with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Minecraft release during summer 2014. Minecraft creator Notch has been contacted by NeoGAF to verify this rumour.

The 3DS could run it in 3D @240p without breaking a sweat. Maybe you have seen Kid icarus or Reident evil revelations?
The 3ds doesn’t have enough controls. It would either need circlepad pro or your place with the touch screen and move with the circle pad. It would be similar to kid Icarus uprising controls. It would be cool because it could be in 3d but the controls would be a pain.

Imagine not only the game pad usage but also using the Wii mote. I’m not a huge fan of minecraft, but then again I haven’t played it. Is it really that good? (not trying to start a flame war)
It’s good in the fact that it has an endless replay value. That and the game is well developed. It’s a good example of a game being good because it relies on it’s game-play as apposed to the “graphics” It’s constantly being updated adding new features and items and it has multiplayer and to top it all off, it’s extremely affordable and there’s no DLC (PC), unless you count the console skin packs, but that’s another story.
It is awesome, ESPECIALLY if they add online multiplayer and map sharing so you can share your creations with others. Plus, the game gets new content all the time. Not little things, but new worlds, items, creatures, etc.
No. Off-TV Play, and crafting on the Gamepad with touch screen drag and dropping. Plus not having to pause your character while building stuff. It might be the same version as PS4 and Xbox One. But better then PS3 and Xbox 360 Versions.

Cause those games are the types of games that actually have a use for the Gamepad…Injustice…come on now, the Gamepad has no purpose in that. AC and SC are Ubifail, they wont bother to optimize their games for Wii U. And Arkham Origins was shit. Rocksteady was better. Origins also was lazy devs.
Injustice for Wii U actually was better if you gave that gamepad to rookie player who didn’t knew special moves.
Arkhum City Armoured edition had fantastic gamepad use, so did Splinter cell. AC3/4 and Injustice just had off tv play really… AC3’s map was very handy. It’s annoying having to pause all the time on AC4 on my ps4 compared to AC3 on My Wiiu.
Just batman, assassin’s creed and splinter cell has great gamepad use and the only good game is batman though

Could be possible, as long as Nintendo Publishes or funds the port. The touch screen would make the vita and Wii U the better versions (if done right) but the Wii U the more powerfull of the 2 would be the definitive console version.

Did some digging and the information comes from a reliable source and sounds legit. Also, the original poster of the article on Nintendo Enthusiast said he made a mistake saying that Mojang has the dev kits. He “assumed” Mojang got the dev kits, because the source claimed “the studio” has received Wii U dev kits. He did not know 4J was the creator of the console versions of Minecraft.
I am officially excited. It seems to be real (99% probability!).
Minecraft will be a perfect fit with the Gamepad, guess I’ll get this on Vita and Wii U when it releases for them.

GTAV “was” coming to Wii U and was perhaps even in the early stages of development, but did not pull through, because the Wii U was going down hill at the time (and still isn’t up to snuff). If Wii U was selling like Nintendo wanted, I guarantee that GTAV would have come to Wii U as well.
Metro was coming but got canceled and destiny had that hidden preorder thing on his website code for wiiu.

The original rumor actually says the dev kits were sent to the “developer” NOT Mojang. The person who made the article thought Mojang made the console versions and made the mistake of saying so.
There is so far no reason to discount this rumor aside from it not being confirmed by Mojang, Nintendo or 4J themself.
Actually, the source of this rumor has a great track record for rumors.
But 4j would never develope outside of Xbox console cuz that a Microsoft studio.
Who ever is doing the PS4 and Vita version could be doing the Wii U version.

Idk, after playing Terraria I stopped playing Minecraft. It is an all around addicting game and a LOT to craft.
I personally would LOVE Terrairia, and if this Minecraft rumor is true then it could lead the developers behind Terrairia to develop for the Wii U soon after. Think about it.
Minecraft (a similar, but not so similar game to Terrairia) does really well on Nintendo’s console. Soon, fans realize this and start a campaign to get Terrairia on Wii U. Normally, they would right off the console as non-profitable, but they see that Minecraft sold and the audience for Minecraft is similar to their game.
With Minecraft comes other great 3rd party games, including Terrairia.
Please make this happen, My PC is too weak to run MC…
So basically the Wii U is the only next gen console that keeps developers challenged while the X86 twins are for lazy developers who let’s the hardware do all the work not giving a damn how much gigs, cores or ram it takes up as long as it has 1080p 60fps they can sell the game ASAP to earn money ASAP and bring patches later.

Why are some of you complaining about Minecraft’s likely arrival on the Wii U? Minecraft is a popular and well-liked game…something the Wii U (or any console, for that matter) needs. Lots of people would buy this. The GamePad seems like it would greatly compliment this type of game, too. Minecraft on the Wii U would be great.
They are just buttheads who are worried that Minecraft will outshine Nintendo products on Nintendo’s own console. Actually, more like hipsters who hate how mainstream and popular the game is. I’m not kidding, I have heard people say that they hate Minecraft, BECAUSE it is “overrated.” Yet these same people are also the ones who have NEVER played it lol!
