Today, Ubisoft announced Tetris Ultimate, the evolution of the world’s most-loved puzzle game, will be available for digital download for the first time on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system this summer to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Tetris, and will be available this autumn on PC.
With exciting modes, fun features and unique visuals, Tetris Ultimate allows 1–4 players to face off in six different game modes: Marathon, Endless, Ultra, Sprint, Battle and Power-Up Battle.
During this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris; Henk Rogers, managing director of The Tetris Company; and Maya Rogers, president and CEO of Blue Planet Software, the sole agent on the Tetris brand, will be at the Ubisoft booth, South Hall #1023, to showcase Tetris Ultimate and sign autographs on June 10, 2–3 pm. The game will be playable at Ubisoft’s Uplay lounge in The Standard hotel during E3.

It really is an underwhelming game. Much poorer visuals than shown off in trailers, mundane gameplay, and boring, terrible multiplayer. I suspect the bloated sales # was off hype and preorders alone. Highly doubt number gets much bigger.
I prefer if they make a Puyo Puyo like game. Don’t get me wrong, Tetris is fun, but it doesn’t come close to Puyo Puyo. DRMBM is the version I grew up playing and never get tired of beating that game over and over again.

You know, I would have preferred Puyo Puyo X Tetris. It has a great, bright visual style, is technically 2 or 3 games in one, online, and is multiplatform (which is good for WiiU and PS Vita as they don’t have Tetris on them). I feel like I’m the only person who thinks this though.

Ubisoft likes the Wii U, but why should they make games for it when the games they do make don’t sell? The majority of people that but Nintendo products either only but Nintendo games or are part of the “HURRRRRR WHY BUY A NINTENDO PLATFORM FOR NON NINTENDO GAMES. ” It’s been like that since Gamecube, with only a handful of companies (notably Capcom and Sega ironically enough) making good sales.
Nintendo really can’t shoulder their consoles all by themselves anymore due to longer development times. After all their next big game won’t be out stateside until near the end of the year. We need more people to take an active interest in third party developers and ask for games, whether they’re multiplatform or not.
The Wii U never had a Chance with ThirdParty because of shitty (or shitty ported… or LATE ported… or even shitty late ported) Launch Titles / Launch Window Titles nobody asked for (including a nonsensical Release of ME3). The high Quantity didn’t help in any Way.
There is a “simple” Formula of being successful on WiiU (and on any other Console): Make a good Game that is fun to play and that as many People as possible would buy. Advertise it correctly and do not handicap the WiiU Version in Release Date, Quality or Contents if it is a Multiplatform Game. Some Publishers nowadays don’t even try this in Case of Nintendo Systems, so I will not buy their Shit, they don’t need Alms and Charity from me for being crappy.

Seems a kick in the teeth that the company that helped make Tetris ridiculously popular gets shafted, but Puyopuyo Tetris is a far superior game anyway. All Sega needs to do is haggle with The Tetris Company to get it licensed for Western audiences. That way, the Wii U and 3DS (also the PS3 and Vita) get the superior product.

Delaying a finished game, porting glitched or unfinished games to Wii U, delaying yet another game for Wii U, & now not even making games for the Wii U. Games can be patched, and expecting open world games (Ubisoft’s specialty as of late) to be bug free is ridiculous. They also delayed Watch_Dogs so they could put time and effort into it instead of making it a bad port. However bills need to be paid, and making games that don’t sell is not going pay those bills. Instead of throwing a tantrum why don’t you ask why it’s not coming and what needs to be done to make it happen.
Oh, and Ubisoft is actually one of the Wii Us biggest supporters, with more games for it than everyone except Activision and Nintendo. And before you whine about their games let me remind you that the Wii U was not built to cater exclusively to you.

Is that the only thing wrong with GTAV is the online? If so, no biggie if the online isn’t the main focal point of the game. Not to mention there are more people causing trouble in the city. Now if the offline is having some trouble or the online is the focal point, then I retract my statement.
And I must be talking for most of them since the games don’t sell well on the Wii U or any Nintendo console for that matter if the game is glitched or unfinished. We grew up with high quality games that had extremely few to no glitches/bugs, so we aren’t going to buy games that are guilty of this.
GTAV has many bugs, including crashes, cars not showing up in garages, ragdoll freakouts, and sound not properly loading. However it’s still a fun game and people are willing to look past them.
However, if you think Assassin’s Creed is an incredibly buggy game, you honestly need to play more games. Black Flag also happens to be relatively bug free
Oh and Nintendo fanboys not supporting third party has been a thing since the gamecube, so trying to put on airs makes look even more like a douchebag. It also makes me sad that we’ll never see people other than Nintendo experiment with their unique console because of people like you.
Not to mention Monolith Soft, now a 1st party developer for Nintendo, was able to release Xenoblade Chronicles to the Wii with no glitches & that was an open world game. But by all means. Let’s give Ubisoft a pass because they are “supporting” the Wii U.
Last tine I checked Xenoblade had fairly static open fields. Most open world games feature many random variables that make them a pain to QA because you may never see certain combinations. Of course, they eventually do get caught and patched out. Kinda like how Nintendo patched Tomodachi Life OH WAIT WHY ARE WE LETTING NINTENDO GET AWAY WITH RELEASING BUGGY GAMES?
“Oh wow. This game has one bug! This game is buggy!” See how stupid that sounds? xD One bug does not make a game buggy unlike Ubisoft with Assassin’s Creed 3 having a number of them. And the bug for Tomodachi Life was less of a bug & more of an exploit. Like fire hopping in Mario Kart 8 to keep the boost going for a little longer.
