Nikki From Swapnote Will Get Her Own Game In Japan

We all know Nikki from Swapnote and now she’s getting her very own game to star in, in Japan. Nikki’s new game is titled Nikki’s Travel Quiz and is a downloadable game from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Information on the new game is fairly scarce, but it’s coming out soonish. Nikki’s Travel Quiz will set back Japanese gamers a mere 80 points.

      1. Nintendo distributed her mii through spotpass to Nintendo 3DS users’ Streetpass Plaza, so you don’t even have to make her mii; Just import it from Streetpass to the Mii Maker.

  1. Some sick faggot sended me a dick in swapnote no joke! Ugh.. And then i heard other sick -f*** sick faggots sended sex pictures in swapnote.thats how this great messaging system got discounted ug i miss swapnote..

      1. It’s not that they’re lazy, but Swapnotes was a messaging service; There were bound to be inappropriate messages, and moderating them would of been a privacy issue. However, messages can only be sent to registered friends, which it’s there wherein the issue lies.

Many people abuse the friend system, adding random people they have little to no contact with to their friend list for the sole purpose of either increasing their friend count or having more people to play with online (not unlike facebook, no?).

This overflowed into Swapnotes, to where, while inappropriate messaging was technically against the TOS, it was just that: messaging. Nintendo would of opened them selves up for ridicule by the privacy advocates for going through individual Swapnotes in search for adult content. Combine this with the vulnerability in the friend system, and suddenly adult imagery is being sent to those who otherwise did not ask for it nor wished for it.

The issue, however, got too out of hand. One adult getting a random d**k pic in their inbox isn’t that big of an issue (the recipient at best will be disgusted, delete the image, and go about their day.), but a child predator sending a d**k pic to a child is a whole different story. Children were being preyed on, through this vulnerability in Swapnotes, and on a larger scale, the friend system, and could of been, if not were, severely hurt. As such, Nintendo was pretty much put between a rock and a hard place. The options at hand were: Scan through each Swapnotes (which is technically an invasion of privacy), and close off the online function (Which solves the problem but cripples the software).

        1. The other option would of course have been to remove the ability to send photos to other users (we saw them do game updates that are mandatory for online functionality with the MK7 patch before Letter Box was around), but I’m surprised that didn’t happen. It would have solved the problem at hand while still keeping the application in a functional state.

    1. It’s called Miiverse. Swapnotes was a private messaging service designed for use by friends, but due to the catch 22 vulnerability in the Friend System, opened itself up to abuse that ultimately led to it’s closure. Privacy Advocates, I’m sure, would of jumped all over Nintendo for scanning the notes sent through their service for adult content.

      1. I prefer Swapnote over Miiverse WITH Miiverse’s moderation security/post monitoring system in place to prevent perverted posts like that from happening again by banning those sick bastards immediately.

  2. Gotta pay attention to these things that people post on NeoGaf….

According to the original source, this supposedly Nikki Game (Nikki Travel Quiz) is a software that will be available for download for members of the Japanese Club Nintendo. There´s no clue if it´s a game or an application, actually, neither if it will be available for purchase later.

It´s better always check the original source instead of posting news based on forums.
