Twilight Princess HD Includes New Controls and Item

A lot of new information has come out thanks to Nintendo Minutes lengthy look at The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. One of the more welcome changes is that players can transform into Wolf Link by touching the GamePad rather than talking to Midna, which will save players a lot of time in the long run. On the other hand, a new feature that may leave players divided is the use of the gyroscope to aim items such as the Clawshot. However, instead of fighting over whether motion or physical controls are better, I suggest sharing theories about the game’s new lantern item.

During the video, an item similar to a Poe’s lantern can clearly be seen in Link’s HUD. While this could simply be an updated look to the original lantern, the similarities to the enemy’s item point toward something more. You can hear GameXplain’s theory in the video below.

  1. But there’s probably gonna be an option to turn off gyro like in WWHD so why argue when I doesn’t matter? BTW this game is looking MUCH better than the original.

      1. Not new in that sense, but to Nintendo is constitutes a new dungeon, and generally items are found in dungeons, so I imagine this new item is likely the result of completing the massive dungeon or is found along the way to exercise the newness of the dungeon itself.

  2. Seems like the fighting has been improved on as well. When wolf link jumps he no longer knocks over the enemy, this makes it so that he doesn’t just stand there waiting for him to get back up. Another thing I notice is that the enemy actually dies faster. Not as in less health, I mean when the enemy is completely dead he explodes faster than in the original version. Found that interesting, I hope they made Ganondorf a bitch to fight against, I’d love for him to be super difficult, and have new faster moves.

    1. Jaded Professor Ridley Bowie X3 {R.I.P. David Bowie, the One & Only Goblin King! R.I.P. Alan Rickman, the Awesome Professor Snape!}

      A faster fight scene with Ganondorf making it slightly more like the Wind Waker fight!? I sure do hope so. The TP Ganondorf fight is lame compared to Wind Waker’s.

  3. I’m guessing when you use the hookclaws you can scroll the gamepads screens up or down left or right to aim it where you would want it to go like some of the other items like the hero’s bow for example hold the hero’s bow icon down move it to one of the icons that is shown press the icon to take it out and tap the gamepads to fire.
