The games that will be featured during the 2016 Evolution Championship Series (Evo) have been announced. Among this year’s lineup are not one but two Super Smash Bros. titles – Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – as well as the arcade-style Pokemon-themed fighting game, Pokken Tournament. Evo 2016 is scheduled to take place in July at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada.

Idk about pokken tournament. From the competitive play I’ve seen. It looks like nothing but block, spam move and fucking repeat. I’ll buy it but the fighting system has no fucking strategy.
That’s basically it with most fighting games which all are just as static as playing checkers. Smash however tried to change that with free movement and some stratum involved.
Pokken just seems to mashy to be at Evo. I’m mad salty Skullgirls didn’t get in.
First and last time that Pukemon game will be at EVO. The Pukemon Company and Nintendo probably paid to have it included and get some advertising. EVO though won’t want it back next year and neither will anybody else. It looks like $H1T and the dedicated controller is beyond fugly.
Can’t judge the game just yet but that fucking oddball controller, I can agree on. I’m not touching that Atari-looking shit. lol
It’s been out since forever in the arcades. It’s not suited for competitive play.
Which is ok. Not every fighting game needs to be Tekken (although it’s slightly ironic that this one in particular isn’t).

If only visuals of the game (from the headline picture) looks THAT good in that deadweight console. Too bad it doesn’t but it’s rather blocky up close.
