EA Says They Will Bring “One Of Their Bigger Games” To Nintendo Switch

All eyes are on EA and what they will bring to the table with the Nintendo Switch. We already know they are one of the third-party developers developing for Nintendo’s next generation system, but what they have planned remains a mystery. Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen has said that the game will be one of their bigger games that they have been involved with. However, it’s probably unlikely to be Mass Effect as the game director said they weren’t developing the game for the platform. The likely hood is its FIFA but I guess we shall have to wait and see.

“In terms of Nintendo, in their announcement they announced that we’ll be supporting with a game or two on that new platform. We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games we’ve been involved with.”

“We’re excited for Nintendo, it’s an interesting device, but I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be, and will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have.”

    1. If Switch got the next Mass Effect…. I would seriously consider buying it day 1. I know I said only Metroid could make me do that, but after sinking hundreds of hours into WiiUs ME3… I would LOVE a portable, console version… Fuck… Please be Mass Effect.

      1. i mean despite what mmn says they never said it wouldnt be on the switch, all they said was the consoles it was planned for. hopefully we will know in January

  1. That’s nice and all, but will this be a port of an older game (Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2) or a major release (like Mass Effect: Andromeda) that launches alongside the PS4/XB1 versions?

  2. If it’s not a sports game maybe Titanfall 2. I’ve read how that games uses a very old ass engine so I can’t imagine a port being too difficult. Maybe Star Wars also. If the Switch is able to handle it I could see Disney wanting it on there. They’ve always supported Nintendo.

  3. obviously it’s fifa. nintendo knows that they can very well live without many of EA ip’s. what they can’t live without is sports games, which so many people play casually.

    1. That’s 2K who is owned by Take-Two Interactive, the same guys that also own Rockstar Games. They have no connection to EA aside from also making sports games.

  4. Probably Madden 17 and Star Wars Battlefront, both for $59.99 and no online, then complain when neither sell and vow never to release another Switch game ever…

  5. Probably Star Wars Battlefront 2 and FIFA 17. Other possibilities are Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden Warfare, The Sims 4, and maybe Titanfall 2….not really sure about Mass Effect Andromeda but it could happen

    1. Fuck that. Battlefront is just Nintendo Land set in the Star Wars universe, just a bunch of mini-games with no overall connecting original story. Now if they give us Battlefront 2 with an actual interconnected story, that I can get behind!

      1. I would say it’s more akin to Overwatch where it’s just focused on fps multiplayer fun. And if we could get Fox and Samus as hero characters, along with their airships for the dog fighting modes I would totally buy that. Sorry, not sorry. :P

        1. I would have enjoyed Nintendo Land if it had a online multiplayer since I don’t get many visitors at home. But with a Star Wars game, I actually expect a freaking original story to tie everything together in the game. It’s partly my fault, though. I never should have went in to the game expecting Rogue Squadron levels of awesome story & gameplay. :/

    1. My magical friend should remember,
That Zelda has skipped over November,
      And before throwing stones,
      Remember it’s known,
That BotW’s delays are beyond number.

  6. I just hope they put Lord of the Rings: The Third Age in the virtual console of Switch or in the e-shop of Switch (asuming that would be the name of their Downdload Shop).

  7. EA use to be one of my favorite developers but I stopped supporting them when they stopped supporting Nintendo. I would love to play some of their games again but refuse to until they start supporting Nintendo properly.

    1. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times.
Nintendo stopped supporting Nintendo before EA did.
EA gave us ME3, it was overpriced, but I feel sorry for any WiiU owner that didn’t play it. It was by far the definitive version of ME3 among all consoles. The WiiU managed a gorgeous game that deserved more exposure.

  8. I don’t like the franchise but I suspect it will be FIFA. If Switch can get those games, it will really help the Switch compete with the other two consoles. ESPECIALLY in the UK.

  9. You guys can all speculate about all these games that you would personally like to see on the platform, but the reality is that FIFA is absolutely the most important thing to come back to Nintendo, especially for the European market (but it’s hardly insignificant in other markets either).

  10. A good way for EA to bring back costumer trust on nintendo consol would be a fully working port of bf1 and titanfall 2 with fifa. Madden is not all that needed cuz soccer is more global than american football.

  11. I would love bf1 and titanfall 2.Those 2 could bring back costumer trust from nintendo users very quick if they are fully supported. Also fifa is a bigger title than madden since fifa is a global ip.

  12. I like the first RPG game of EA which is LOTR: The Third Age and I also like LOTR: The Return of The King. Both of them were avaliable in the Game Cube. The Third Age was even avaliable in the Game Boy Advance.

  14. Is there some reason people in here arent considering Star Wars Battlefront 2? That or Battlefied would def be considered some of EA’s “bigger games” and would do a lot to promote good will with the core gamers whonown other systems.

    1. Maybe because some of us don’t have much hope for a good Star Wars game from EA since Battlefront was just an over-glorified mini-game filled video game with no original story & lacked awesome space battles. Some of us expected more that was something along the lines of the Rogue Squadron games, too.

      1. Maybe some of us like how you have impossibly high standards for a Star Wars skinned fps, but think that any wwe game would be considered a system seller on switch. What dimension do you live in?

        1. Because millions… AND MILLIONS of people like WWE & like WWE games. It’s bound to be a system seller to at least a couple thousand if not a couple million. Don’t diss the game as a system seller just because YOU won’t buy a Switch to play it. In fact, any game has the potential of being a system seller if even just ONE person buys a console for that game alone. And yeah. I admit I had high expectations for a Star Wars game because I loved the older games. I just forgot to take into account the game was being made by the one of the worst video game companies today. But it was fucking Star Wars and I have a weak spot for that franchise.

        2. As for dimension, I haven’t decided yet. I’m trying to choose between the 5th Dimension where Stardust came from, the Dark Dimension where Quadraxis comes from, or the Holy Light Dimension where angels reside. Hm… Get back to me on that one.

  15. “EA Says They Will Bring “One Of Their Bigger Games” To Nintendo Switch”, and nobody really cared because EA is the 2nd worse company in gaming history. They were #1 but Konami kicked the shit out of them for that title in a way where the beating Konami gave EA looked like ballet of beautiful bloody fists dancing in the wind lol:D
