Whilst video gaming sales have boomed dramatically through 2008 and are set to continue doing so during 2009, Nintendo are scrupulously observing the market and public buying trends.
In a recent interview with the popular Japanese newspaper, The Yomiuri Shimbun, Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata further backed up claims that a large majority of young consumers are delegating money for video gaming, instead of other causal past-times such as eating out and watching films.
I think Nintendo’s gonna crash soon, like Sega did. :/
Wow, that’s one controversial statement right there ; )
I think if they continue to:
a) Watch the ever-changing and ever-shifting gaming markets
b) Try their utmost to cater for ‘hardcore’ gamers whilst keeping those ‘causal gamers’ ultimately content.
c) Continue to take unprecedented risks to evolve gaming.
Then they’ll continue to be the status-quo.
Well, let’s hope so anyway : )
Hey, that’s my wallpaper design from my Deviant Art page! Haha =)
It’s brilliant. Hope you’re OK with me using it? :)
