Nintendo Wii: The Nintendo Wii Gets An Innovative Drawing Tablet Peripheral

THQ have announced that they’re bringing a drawing tablet peripheral to the Nintendo Wii titled uDraw.

Yahoo recently got a chance to go hands-on with the product which THQ previously stated would be “very very innovative” back in July 2010.

Pricing for the uDraw Gametablet, which comes with a game, has been announced at $70. There will be two other games available at launch, Pictionary and Dood’s Big Adventure.

“In Nintendo tradition, it’s certainly different and definitely innovative–and it’s far more compelling than I had expected it to be.”

  1. Maybe Nintendo will finally realize their dream of the Mario Paint series from N64DD.

@Deekay – It appears the Wii Remote cradles into the device. There’s probably a connector to add functionality, thus making it possible to connect to PC. Maybe not by conventional means, but it looks very likely.

  2. Oh man, I remember Mario Paint! I actually have it in my closet somewhere. It’d be kinda cool to see a Mario Paint Wii or a Flipnote Studio Wii.

    1. Oh! I just thought….what about a Scribblenauts Wii? I’ve never gotten to play the original on DS, but I hear it’s really good. I can totally see it on Wii now.

  3. @JDE – a usb keyboard peripheral would suit it better on Wii. Trust me, drawn text recognition is a pain in the ass @.@
