It’s been revealed that the forthcoming Super Mario Collection is in fact just a rehashed version of the Super Nintendo classic Super Mario All-Stars.
Whilst it was initially thought that it may contain graphically revised editions of the NES and Super Nintendo classics recent screen shots suggest it’s just a simple port.
Still there’s plenty of reasons to purchase it as it comes with a soundtrack CD that covers the entire Mario series and it also comes with a lavish booklet that showcases rare and unreleased artwork.
boo!
Man, I wish they had recreated them in a NSMB Wii style instead of just porting the originals. Or, perhaps, they could have included both versions, and allowed you to freely switch between the style you wanted to play in. That would be neat.
You’re so right. Why not NSMB Wii the classics? Oh well. There’s always the 30th anniversary.
Nintendo of America has twitted today that this day Super Mario Bros. Celebrates today its anniversary, but there no more information about a possible release like in Japan.I hope we get the same chance of getting this piece of Art.
Meh. Waste of money.
So the main reason to buy this game that’ll probably hit $40 at retail is the soundtrack and the art books?
I bet your favorite Mario tune won’t even be in it.
Nintendo’s been known for rehashes, but this is just ridiculous. All these games are available on VC, for christ’s sake.
I guess this will go through the Japan test. If it sells well, we’ll get it over here.

Wow, what a cop out. If they can fit Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World all on one SNES cartridge, they could have fit all that and more on a disc.
They SHOULD have included all these games:
1.) SMB
2.) SMB 2 (US)
3.) SMB LL (JPN)
4.) SMW
5.) SMW2: Yoshi’s Island
6.) SMRPG: Seven Stars
They could have charged 60 bucks for that, and honestly, I probably would have bought it. It would be stellar to have those games all on one disc, as to not take space on the Wii hard drive and to finally have a version of Yoshi’s Island I don’t have to blow into.
EDIT:
Add Super Mario Bros 3 to that list. Duh.
