Nintendo 3DS: 3D Video Recording Could Come To The Nintendo 3DS With A Firmware Update

During the latest episode of Iwata Asks Nintendo president Satoru Iwata openly discussed the possibility of recording 3D video footage with the Nintendo 3DS.

“Until now even if you have taken 3D photos, you wouldn’t have many ways to show them off, but if everyone has one and is taking 3D photos and showing them to each other, then that changes the value… Perhaps [the 3DS] is going to be the first time when something like this can spread far and wide rather rapidly… I think it will be fun if we’re able to include video recording capabilities with future updates.”

  1. Oh, Please, Nintendo. YOU CAN DO IT. Video Recording is just matter of software capabilitie… Every single camera can record video. Just depends on software…. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.

  2. And people are complaining about the price? This is why the 3DS may be expensive, but I hope they add this. This will be epic. :D

  3. …don’t be disappointed when this feature comes to the 3DS and the video quality is terrible. The two cameras on the Nintendo DSi are 0.3MP (inside cam) and 3MP on the outside camera. Of course, that was in their best interest because they were able to keep the price low. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nintendo and think it is one of the better videogame companies.

  4. Yeah Alex C is rigght, the outside camera is ok,3mp, but theres one problem, only one camera, so it cant take 3D. the two cameras that take 3D however are awful quality. However, I’d still like this and am buying 3ds at launch
