Nintendo 3DS: Splinter Cell 3D Box Art Surfaces

Ubisoft have revealed the official Japanese box art for the forthcoming Splinter Cell 3D.

As with all Nintendo 3DS games the Nintendo 3DS logo is now situated on the right hand-side to avoid any confusion amongst consumers as to whether they’re purchasing a 3DS game or a standard DS game.

  1. The cover looks great! I love the Splinter Cell franchise, so I’ll definitely want to get this, but it feels like a random title to put on the 3DS. Considering Ubisoft put Splinter Cell Convictions on the iPhone, it would seem to make more sense to release Convictions on the 3DS instead of Chaos Theory.

With all the titles Ubisoft has announced for the 3DS, it feels like they kind of want to cash in early on its hype. I’m not saying they’re going to release a ton of crap, but there’s a few titles that seem to be either random or missed opportunities. Another example would be Ghost Recon. Instead of being one of the first to show how cool a military shooter can look and play on the 3DS. Instead they choose to make a tactic game that looks like it could be on the DS.

  2. Perhaps the 3DS doesn’t use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection at all and it uses something else entirely. Something hopefully better.
