Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo Is Hiding Its Best Nintendo 3DS Games

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has told gaming press that the company wants to let third party developers have more 3DS launch attention.

According to Iwata there are several first party 3DS titles that were finished before Nintendogs and Cats but the company is refraining from releasing them at the 3DS launch as they would rather let third party games get more attention.

  1. Wow…Nintendo can’t be blamed for lack of third party support anymore!
This gives us players a richer experience.
I guess it includes an original mario game!

  2. It would be so great if they made a classic Metroid again.. this time in 3D! But I like Metroid prime even more I think…

  3. That’s a good thing… But, I’m not sure that third party developers will always remain as productive as they will be during the year 2011 now that Sony have arguments with their NGP (only one, indeed which is the rear touchpad), but I hope so. This is gonna be awesome.
    Wait&see…

      1. AbuJaffer ^ That’s what I was going to ask! haha, I am still going to be an early adopter, regardless of the overrun of third party games at launch! plus, I realized that this gives me an opportunity to buy a game or two that I wouldn’t necessarily have bought before.

        1. GAME, Zavvi and Amazon have started lowering the prices, as if they’re not selling well enough… I could be wrong though ;)

  4. Wow! That’s honestly, great to hear!

Because with that in mind, Nintendo might get more support for the Nintendo Wii too! Lol! Maybe! But this is great news never the less. Sure, we’re not going to see Mario Kart 3D, if they finished it, at launch but that means a richer experience through out it’s elease!

  5. Okay, except for the title of the article being totally misleading…just because Nintendo isn’t releasing the names of the other titles they have developed does NOT mean that the titles they aren’t naming are the best games they have ready…in fact, given that they are purposefully keeping their mouths shut probably means that the titles we don’t already know about are less than stellar. Wake up people, they already announced Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Starfox, Metal Gear Solid 3DS, Mario Kart 3DS, and as Assassin’s Creed title. Don’t assume the other titles (remember, they are saying more than one) are going to have anything to do with Mario, or even be new games. After all, most of the titles I just listed are retreads.

    1. Retarded? You obviously don’t know good games. Besides, what’s so misleading about the title? It meant that Nintendo isn’t rushing its own game titles in, while giving implied companies you listed a chance: Square Enix, Ubisoft etc. And the blogger probably meant during the 3DS’ first quarter. (Do we even know what the next “Super Mario” is, or if it’s coming before or after Mario Kart?)

  6. I’m just going on how everywhere is suddenly lowering the 3DS prices. It’s as though now we know there aren’t really any “great” games at launch no one is interested anymore… Hey I hope I’m wrong but that’s what it looks like to me >_<

  8. Pray for an F-Zero game!

Anyway, I’d imagine that the “secret” titles they have are likely an original Mario and/or Zelda game, since they’ve only announced a Mario Kart and a LoZ:OoT remake. Either way, the strong lineup is VERY tempting, indeed, and I may even be persuaded to save up for this.

  13. Comon people you guys don’t seem to know nintendo very well, as if the are gonna show all their cards just for the launch? this is gonna be a console that will be around for a few years, so they wont be showing everything at once and have nothing for the future.
If history has taught me anything this is just a tiny scrape of what nintendo has got for us, mark my words.
