Viz Media has announced that it’s bringing Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva to North America. The anime movie takes place between the events of Professor Layton and the Last Specter and Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. The film has been a runaway success in Japan and Level 5 has already commissioned a sequel. Anyone thinking of picking this up when it goes on sale later this year?
YESSSSSS!!!! :D
I got it when it came out in the UK last year. It’s a very very good film. Well worth anyone who likes Layton to go see.
Awesome! But any word on when the Last Spectre game be released stateside?
HAHA wow, my sister and I were just talking about this movie not too long ago. Sweet.
Will they use the same voices as in the UK version? I don’t much care, either way, but I am curious to know.

I was just watching it on german TV.:)
According to the Nintendo Power Game Forecast in the August 2011 magazine, Last Specter is scheduled to be released for the Nintendo DS this Fall, 2011. The release date for Mask of Miracle (a tentative title) for the Nintendo 3DS is To Be Announced.
I love the Professor Layton series, and I can’t wait for this to come to the US! Two questions though…
1.) This takes place between Last Specter and Diabolical Box. Does that mean it takes place between Last Specter and Curious Village, or after Curious Village, but before Diabolical Box?
2.) Where does Mask of Miracle fit into the chronology of the games?
I AM SO GETTING THIS! I LOVE PROFESSOR LAYTON! ^-^
A MOVIE WITH HIM, I CANNOT WAIT!
I WISH I HAD IT NOW!
I have been waiting FOREVER for a Layton movie to come out!
Professor Layton RULES.
This takes place after Curious Village, but before the Diabolical Box, for those of you wondering. It’s like a side story, what happened in between those two games. Almost the entire movie seems to be a flashback, though so beyond that I’m not sure… But yay! The voice acting is one of my favprite parts! A whole MOVIE! :D
Oops. “favorite”. :)
Does anyone know what stores we will be able to buy the film from?
