Nintendo Wii U: Silicon Knights Working On Eternal Darkness 2 For Wii U?

Kotaku is reporting that Silicon Knights are hard at work creating one of its most requested titles for the next generation. Eternal Darkness is known to be the company’s most critically acclaimed title, so it would make sense for the company to focus their efforts on a sequel to the much-loved Gamecube title.

“The company is currently refocusing and returning to its roots, working on one of its most requested titles for the next generation.”

    1. seeing that the company has hit a down, it would make sense to put together a title that would be most likely to sell. lets just hope that the lay off does not effect quality and those who have been put on leave make it back soon.

        1. No Shooting? why are people only into shooting?

Shooting is repetitive and gets boring after a while. You really need to pick up an RPG game.

        1. I think he meant “And learn to read, it doesn’t say name. Only back to its roots, dumbasses”. And even spelled right, the comment it’s still DUMB, because Silicon Knights said they are working on the most IP for next gen, which is Eternal Darkness.

  1. Let’s just hope that Silicon Knights can deliver a good game this time. Eternal Darkness was awesome, almost everything after wasn’t.

  2. zomgzomgzomg Eternal Darkness Sanity’s Requiem is one of those must-have Gamecube titles. I still occasionally play my copy–and rage at the trickery each time my sanity meter dips lol Do it do it do it Silicon Knights!!!!! :D

  3. Please, don’t let it end up like Too Human quality wise. Also, if they’re working on this, then that means Nintendo gave them the green light? I mean, Nintendo fully owns Eternal Darkness including its sequels, prequels, and any other games related to it. If this is true, then I hope Nintendo is involved in it like in the last game.

  4. I doubt this will come out any time soon, silicon knights just laid off 3 quarters of their staff… I wouldn’t expect this any time before 2015.

  5. The Only Pokemon Champion

ok im sorry but i have to say this
doesnt it seem like every game that is being made for the wii u has dark and 2 in it
example: darksiders 2, darkness 2, and Eternal darkness 2
sorrry but i find it annoying :/

    1. Why in the world does that suck? How is that a problem? More to the point, how is that any more different than the flood of “Something something THREE” titles that have been chugging over the last few months?

  6. It’s probably Eternal Darkness, but there is a slim chance its Legacy of Kain. I know Eidos/Square owns the rights to the latter, but they could always contract or take a stake in a third-party to develop it a sequel/reboot (like the recent Batman games). I mean, look how popular vampires are, right now?

    1. Well at the same time the Eternal Darkness IP is owned by Nintendo, which would mean that Nintendo contracted them to do this. In any case if would mean some kind of contracting would be going on no matter which game it is.

  7. I’m surprised no one here mentioned using the vitality censor to monitor your heart rate to remain sane in the game >_>…?

      1. I think the rest of us are too busy looking at the hot chick in the picture. The only thing I see is the hot chick and the Wii U controller.

  8. I really hope it’s Eternal Darkness 2. The first one was one of the most original games I’ve sen in a long time. Trippy as hell.

  9. Well the only NEXT generation console they ever announced was the Wii U, it would have to be that. I sure as hell am never buying a Red Ring of Death 720 or an Identity Theft Station 4

    1. LOL!!!!!!!!

True, Red Ring of Death sucks which is why Xboxes suck.

Playstation is not that bad but it is has had 2 hacks in 4 months.
