Nintendo Wii: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Metacritic User Score Dips To 8.0

Gamers have flocked to Metacritic to give their impressions of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and the results are mixed. At the time of writing this blog post there have been seventy-seven positive reviews, two mixed reviews and nine negative reviews. Clearly the majority of people who have rated the game haven’t even finished it, but that’s another story.

      1. No it wasnt 5/10. Someone gave it a 4/10 as far as critic reviews are concerned. I tend to ignore user reviews too. One for skyward sword said their little brother played for 45 minutes then returned to play the Lego games because it sucked. Some of them are just blind fanboys of the other companies.

        1. Lol that’s hardly enough time to get off of skyloft for the first time…..i just now opened up the forest the controls are great but that’s all can say so far since I’m not far at all.

        2. If that guy was a fanboy you may want to include the part of his review that made him seem like a fanboy because otherwise your example does nothing to prove your point.

    1. It’s obviously just haters hating. There’s always going to be those very few people that rate a game bad just to be big fat meaners. >.<
It's not like they could have finished the game by now anyways. Once more people buy the game and have a chance to actually finish it, then the good reviews will outweigh the bad by far.

  1. i just bought the game limited edition and is garbage
the wii remote looks like crap the orchestra soundtrack sucks full of mistakes and the game is just ok, the controls are not responsive at times but the game is just more of the same….

            1. the Wii-mote’s paint feels a little cheap honestly, but looks pretty, and the game is more of the same to a degree. By which I mean more of the awesomeness of Zelda.

            1. Well horrible grammar is, not necessarilly bad grammar. Horrible grammar doesn’t automatically mean troll either, but it often does.

    1. Maybe if you actually saw the Wii Mote u would think differently. Also, u should probably actually LISTEN to the CD and play this game WITH the Wii Motion Plus. Your experience might drastically change.

    2. Dude people have been copy/pasting this thing >.> I bet some retarded just made it and zelda haters are just pasting. I bought it amd everything is awesome!

  2. Not a suprise. Haters gonna hate.
And who really uses user reviews as a proper insight.
It’s usually overwhelmed with either fanboy rating who give it a straight 10, haters, and those hipsters.

  3. I wouldn’t trust some of the negative reviews, half of them are fanboys of the other companies who are just trolling, for instance one review states how if it were on the 360 or PS3 it would have been better in every way. So I’d knock off a couple of those negative reviews before I actually find the real average score. There should be a cunt test to see if your really getting a real review and not one of a sony or microsoft fanboy.

  4. Here’s the thing with e-v-e-r-y LoZ game. You play through it. You like it, or you don’t. I hated Majora’s Mask for it’s difficulty (POSTMAN ARRRRRRRGH), but loved it’s dark, disturbing atmosphere. I had an incredible distaste for the Oracles and Minish Cap. I played all of them to 100% completion, regardless. Not in hopes that they’d get better, but because.. it’s Zelda. At the end of the day, what makes these games great is their uniqueness. It might not always be for the best, so all that we can do is approach it with an open mind.

LoZ:SS is not OoT. It is not Twilight Princess. Every game is unique and different in many ways, and that is what makes them memorable. I feel like a lot of the people who are offering negative reviews are expecting it to be more like a previous title. The best way to play through these games is like you’ve never played it before, complete it to 100% (of your ability), and then reflect. Having the game for 5 hours and being grumpy about it is absurd.

    1. You’re the man!! hahaha, i mean, everybody here (i guess) loved OoT, cause that game IS THE GAME! i mean it is just awesome, i loved Majora’s Mask, and i loved Twilight Princess (it is soooo easy but still a nice game). Wind Waker is a really nice game too! loved the story!!, havent played this skyward sword and I cannot say anything about the game. but i just cant wait to play it cause i know that Mr. Miyamoto has a really nice story to tell in this game, and i know we all are going to have a nice experience while playing this.

      1. I really liked Majora’s Mask. I got to the first dungeon and put the game down because I COULDN’T GET INSIDE OF IT. 6 months later, I went back and beat it 100%. I’ve been playing Zelda since I was 3 years old – mom helped me make maps on grid paper for the original LoZ since the included map(s) weren’t that great. I’ve still got them, framed, on my LoZ shrine shelf in my game room. I’m working on a stencil with a friend so I can paint a Twilight Princess logo on my wall above the TV. My fiancee is not happy about any of this.

Now that that’s out, the games are great overall. OoT was lifechanging for me.. and when I finally realized that I could take the warp from the Lost Woods to Death Mountain for the Biggoron Sword it made my life complete, haha. Windwaker was a snoozefest for me, but I still loved it. The combat was fun, and I honestly liked the cell animation, knowing that they wouldn’t continue it into the next generation made it even cooler to me. Admittedly, I don’t care much for any of the Game Boy / DS titles aside from Awakening, which is one of the best games in the entire series IMO. Twilight Princess was easy, sure, but it was a gorgeous game. I would be completely happy seeing every LoZ done in that style. I’d love a big open Skyrim style game that really emphasis Link on his own, really fighting through everything (like in the manuals for 1+2) but I’m perennially happy with what Miyamoto gives me. I’ll always love The Legend of Zelda.

        1. OMG!! hahahahaha!! i totally agree with you, i would love to see every new ToL with the TP Style!!! you are a big fan man!! i LOVE LOVE TLoZ Too, OoT changed my life, i’ve been playing OoT since i was 5… still playing it, now im 20, i can complete the game with only 3 hearts and the standard magic meter without dying the whole game…. it makes me feel good just hearing the songs… makes me remember my childhood. Nice man!! Keep PLaying!!! keep PLaying!!

  5. I like how some people are hating on it, without illegitimate reason. “outdated graphics” “same old formula”(*cough**cough*cod*cough**cough*)”boring”

this is an example of trolling. These are the worst trolls. They forgot to put proper batteries in their controllers, in their brains, AND PUT OFF THAT GODDAM HATE-MASK!

    1. You’re right they are hating on it without illegitimate reasons if those are the reasons they’re hating on it because all those reasons are legitimate, except maybe the graphics since the graphics seem to work perfect with the art style. I guess some people might think otherwise though.

  6. Metacritic user reviews are reliable in the same way that you can always rely on Sideshow Bob to get the better of Bart Simpson.

  7. Games like Xeonblade have user score average of 7.8 it does not mean much. Critique score of Skyward word is a 9.5 which is more accurate

  8. After reading IGN’s story about user review scores on that site, I no longer trust any user reviews of any kind, anywhere.

Seems all user reviews are either perfect 10s, or zeros. There’s pretty much nothing in between.
So no, I don’t trust any of the user reviews on that site at all. Plus it’s clear more the half of those reviews are from people who haven’t actually played the game. If you notice, they say the story and graphics are bad, but don’t actually explain why they are bad. They are as vague as possible.

Even if those people actually played the game, that’s just a terrible review.

  9. Well, seems like the only thing left to do is storm the site and post a bunch of “10” reviews as we play the game, eh guys? That ought to bring the score to a more reasonable number.

      1. Well, I do think it is so far.. haha, but I am very biased. That’s why I don’t typically post reviews on Metacritic.

  10. “Been playing this game since the midnight release, so 3 hours now. I can safely say that the controls are unresponsive, the graphics are bad, and the game may have done so much better if it were released on the xbox or ps and had a complete graphical overhaul. the story is okay, it’s not bad. Not in the least, but it’s not really good. 4/10. Then again, it’s a Wii game, so it’s to be expected… ”

Thats a negative user review for example. So please don’t take such reviews too serious. The sentence “and the game may have done so much better if it were released on the xbox or ps” shows that the writer is just a retarded idiot, not more.

  11. Metacritic needs to disable user scores because the majority of people on there don’t know how to properly rate a game if they like it they give it a 10 if they dislike it they give it a zero…..and since it’s nintendo people are going to give it a zero without even playing just because all the high praise it’s getting.

    1. thats what metacritic is mostly made up of -_- oh and changing your name doesn’t mean we cant tell your the same person. you have the same pic in every comment.. and your flooding this thread with random shit.

  12. The way I see it I have played about an hour into it and love it I think the control are brill and love the graphics as an 360 owner as well who has bought batman, MW3, assassins revelations and zelda the one game that has me itching to keep playing it like a prostitute crabs is zelda. When I alc

  13. I haven’t played the game yet, but looking at some of the troll posts here I’ve noticed that these trolls obviously have never played a zelda game. the controller is unresponsive? put batteries in. the soundtrack is full of mistakes? impossible, wouldnt be on the soundtrack if there were mistakes, plus this is ZELDA we’re talking about. It has the best soundtrack of ANY video game out there. the gameplay is simply ok? Legend of Zelda always brings the best. new zelda games (for the consoles at least, maybe not handhelds) are not common, they are not like call of duty where there’s a new one every year. They spend time and effort making it the best game they can. that’s why Legend of Zelda is one of the most popular game series out there. I loved Majora’s Mask better than OoT honestly, i loved twilight princess, i loved wind waker, i have loved every single zelda game i’ve come into contact with. not just for the title, but for the gameplay.

  14. I personally don’t care to play SS. Too many weird characters and it’s too colorful to be taken seriously for a fantasy game imo.

    1. hahahahaha

That’s fine if you think that, just don’t come onto new articles/forums complaining about it. Go find games that you’re actually interested in.

      1. I suppose I shouldn’t complain about a game that I’m not even interested in… perhaps I just set the bar too high for this Zelda and got disappointed by the final result :/ Well, hopefully Zelda WiiU will be targeted towards us adult gamers for a change…

  15. The game has proven to show some new ideas and is great!
Its just that the game feels rushed, like they have some ideas then just drop the ball before it becomes anything great. Here are some of the flaws:
The Knight Academy feels more like a small class room as their are only really 5 students ( zelda missing, Groose leaves, link leaves), and their is only one female knight student since Zelda is gone.

The Characters are all almost horrible, the only people with real character development are Link Groose and Zelda, it actualy feels like Majoras Mask did a better job with interesting characters than this game and it was done in a YEAR, this game done in 5 YEARS, its just unacceptable.
Fi doesnt really have background information or develop any friendship at all with link, its like shes just THEIR.

Enemies are the ones im really disappointed with. Giraham is pretty much the only bad villain and their are no others that have bad motives . Mokoboblins, bokoboblins, jelly monsters, keese are really the only enemies you see in the game, exept with different fourms witcch just feels like lazyness Nintendo decided to do other than making more interesting enemies.

Music is not that memorable (other than the godess theme) and sometimes you dont really care. Hit or Miss I guess
    Overall:
Skyward Sword is a great game, but its just so lazy with the decisions Nintendo made, when they try to bring out a good idea they are just lazy with it and it just fails. Visiting the same areas feels like just an excuse becuase they weren’t doing anything with the game. This game is just plain lazy. Come at me Zelda fanboys, and say your logic to act smart and satisfy yourselves, but this game is not that great and im glad Miyamoto is paying special attention to the next game because I dont think Anouma is doing that great without super vision.

        1. So how is the gameplay and is the game fun to play? That’s all that matters to me…..it can’t be any lazier than dragon age 2 or any more boring than l.a noire. Also there has never been much character depth in a Zelda game that I can of.

    1. Opinions aren’t meant for debate. Not happy with Skyward Sword? Fine. All I can do is just let you be disappointed with the game while I enjoy it.

One thing, though (other than a lot of terrible grammar). You compared the characters in Majora’s Mask to Skyward Sword. Please don’t do that. Look at the game as a whole and don’t equate it to other games… The one case it is appropriate to do that is with sequels, and this is obviously not a sequel.

      1. Not happy with the internet? Fine. All I can do is say the if you don’t have valid arguments to debate your comment is not worth spending a thought on.

        Good bye.

    2. And here we have a smarter variant of trollus all-the-time-us. Unlike most trolls species, this kind actually goes against the grain and brings out different viewpoints besides the usual “SHOULD BE ON PS3/360” nonsense in an attempt to sound like a legitimate reviewer. Natural selection, guys. They BE EVOLVIN.

      1. Your argument fails, your not explaining why some trolls are that way but have .1 percent of intelligence than the other kind of low life fanboy species beside the usaul “ZOMG YOU HAVE AN OPINION OPINION OF MINE IM ANGGGRYYY”. Get real or get off the net.

          1. Once again your argument fails, Get real or get off the net.
I cant spend time talking to you, as I have other things in life to do so
            Bye forever.

            1. lol, hey, I can see your points of laziness on Nintendo’s part. The only real ‘innovation’ they introduced in SS was the motion control sword play, but otherwise, it’s just the same old same old imo.

    3. “Its just that the game feels rushed, like they have some ideas then just drop the ball before it becomes anything great. Here are some of the flaws:
The Knight Academy feels more like a small class room as their are only really 5 students ( zelda missing, Groose leaves, link leaves), and their is only one female knight student since Zelda is gone.”

It was in development for five years, and you say it feels rushed. Ok….

Now, as for the rest of the paragraph, it’s a tiny island floating in the sky with about a dozen houses, so how many kids do you expect to be at the knight academy? 5 actually seems too many to me.

“The Characters are all almost horrible, the only people with real character development are Link Groose and Zelda, it actualy feels like Majoras Mask did a better job with interesting characters than this game and it was done in a YEAR, this game done in 5 YEARS, its just unacceptable.
Fi doesnt really have background information or develop any friendship at all with link, its like shes just THEIR.”

Oh, you seem to have remembered it was in development for 5 years now… Fi is some kind of strange entity, I’m not sure she’s supposed to give off feelings of friendship in the same way that Midna or others did. I think she’s supposed to be cold, analytical and businesslike (her constant talk of percentage likelihoods should give this away on its own), and they’ve done a good job on those attributes. As for other character development, I would first of all say that there are 2 or 3 more at a minimum from your list, and I would say that you don’t really need much more than a handful of focal characters with fully fleshed out stories, and there are plenty of non-Nintendo story based games that get by with similar numbers, if not less.

“Enemies are the ones im really disappointed with. Giraham is pretty much the only bad villain and their are no others that have bad motives . Mokoboblins, bokoboblins, jelly monsters, keese are really the only enemies you see in the game, exept with different fourms witcch just feels like lazyness Nintendo decided to do other than making more interesting enemies.”

He’s the only bad villain because he’s the main villain in the story. You’ve listed four types of enemies there but there are several in the first dungeon alone that we then see later in the game that you’ve neglected to mention.

“Music is not that memorable (other than the godess theme) and sometimes you dont really care. Hit or Miss I guess”

This is the only place I’ll agree with you on what I’ve heard so far. It’s missing the epicness of previous Zelda soundtracks.

“Skyward Sword is a great game, but its just so lazy with the decisions Nintendo made, when they try to bring out a good idea they are just lazy with it and it just fails. Visiting the same areas feels like just an excuse becuase they weren’t doing anything with the game. This game is just plain lazy. Come at me Zelda fanboys, and say your logic to act smart and satisfy yourselves, but this game is not that great and im glad Miyamoto is paying special attention to the next game because I dont think Anouma is doing that great without super vision.”

You keep saying lazy so I’m going to focus on that. It took them five years to finish as you seem to flit between remembering and forgetting. If you want to see a rushed game, then please go and play Wind Waker again as that actually had content cut from the game in order to meet their initial release window. This has not happened with Skyward Sword.

      1. “It was in development for five years, and you say it feels rushed. Ok….”
Yup and your not explaining why you don’t think its rushed because you cant since I proved you wrong. Ok…. durp

“Now, as for the rest of the paragraph, it’s a tiny island floating in the sky with about a dozen houses, so how many kids do you expect to be at the knight academy? 5 actually seems too many to me.”

Ya that’s the problem the island is too small for even 5 students, your making this much more easier as your only proving yourself wrong.

“He’s the only bad villain because he’s the main villain in the story. You’ve listed four types of enemies there but there are several in the first dungeon alone that we then see later in the game that you’ve neglected to mention.”

Well as he is the only villain is stale, since you seen him so soon in the beginning he feels like nothing special. Ya maybe like 15 enemies in Skyward Sword not counting lazy enemy forms.

“You keep saying lazy so I’m going to focus on that. It took them five years to finish as you seem to flit between remembering and forgetting. If you want to see a rushed game, then please go and play Wind Waker again as that actually had content cut from the game in order to meet their initial release window. This has not happened with Skyward Sword.”
Exactly and didnt you heard many items were cut out of Skyward Sword they spended two years with experimenting so really only 3 years in development since they failed to make a bigger game. Your argument fails as well, as you neglate my other comments and didnt think right. Give me and argument worth my time in another 80 years, and now to you good bye forever as I will never care for arguments as useless as these.

        1. “Ya that’s the problem the island is too small for even 5 students, your making this much more easier as your only proving yourself wrong.”

Ahh but that isn’t what you said in the first place. You said there were only five students. When you say there’s only so many of something, that means you think there weren’t enough. Goalpost shifting doesn’t look good on you.

          “Ya maybe like 15 enemies”

Which would be a lot more than the four you named originally, wouldn’t it? But even then, it’s more than 15. We are making progress at least though…

“Exactly and didnt you heard many items were cut out of Skyward Sword they spended two years with experimenting so really only 3 years in development since they failed to make a bigger game.”

Actually, the first part of development was based on a game that didn’t feature motion controls, then they decided that motionplus was the way forward and so everything to that point was scrapped. There’s plenty of interviews with various Nintendo employees such as Iwata, Miyamoto, Aonuma and Reggie that confirm this, but could you provide something to back your statement up?

“Give me and argument worth my time in another 80 years, and now to you good bye forever as I will never care for arguments as useless as these.”

I answered all the points you raised, but as you didn’t bother to do the same, I can only assume you have no response. Furthermore, I doubt you’ll be able to resist responding, which would be yet another contradiction.

  16. Generally, everything on Metacritic tends to have a rather mixed/unimpressive score. I have never seen anything with a 100% rating there. They’re all too harsh.

  17. Let me say this…I went to a midnight launch @ gamestop, got my collector’s edition, came home, started playing around 2am, and stopped @ 10am…So far, I’m LOVING this game…At 1st, was having problems with the motion controls that are assigned to the nunchuck, such as, rolling and raising my shield. At 1st I got mad, then I started thinking. So far, Nintendo has never disappointed with gameplay. Plus, all motion controls assigned to the wii mote worked fine. So I put in a different nunchuck, and now ALL motion controls work FINE! Unfornately, some people are looking to hate, due to the motion controls. However, if I didn’t probe as I did, I could have been one of these people. Thankfully, I’m not….:-) Now, time to go back to Skyward Sword!!

  18. I’m about 18 hours in and I’d say only about halfway through it. So the person posting after 3 hours clearly only did the intro stuff and maybe the first part after that.

As for should be on PS3 or 360, yeah because Zelda really worked well on the last non Nintendo console it was on. :-)

  19. Metacritic user score is the sea of trolls, just check the user “reviews” for dragon age 2, ModernWarfare 3 and portal 2″

    1. Couldn’t have said it better myself. The fact is these people have their self-esteem actually wrapped up in how well games they like and games they hate fare with critical and commercial success. It’s kinda sad really.

  20. There go more of those half-assed reviewers trying to not give Nintendo any ‘red carpet’ treatment for putting out a high-quality product. They obviously hate Nintendo and they do not want to cut them any slack. Skyward Sword is a lot of fun.

    1. Looks like your *half-assed* yourself as you always give Nintendo the ‘red carpet’ treatment’ and don’t think about flaws for once.

        1. Exactly, I use it as a test to see if fanboys can react normally and give a valid reason than spouting nonsense. Just my business.

          1. Well if you don’t give them a reason like a name such as yours, and they still react with irrationality then I think that’s the true nonsense. But everyone’s gonna see your name and not think to give you a coherent and thoughtful response, mostly because it looks like you’re hoping they won’t anyway. So they’ll either say “go away troll.”, spout said nonsense, or a combo of both, I think the general consensus on the internet is that it’s a fools errand to give a troll a thoughtful response.

            1. Thanks for the suggestions, I see your not a Fanboy nor Troll.
Fanboys can now see what the point of my name is since I have already stated the purpose in my previous comment.

              Good day.

  21. haha it’s the power of haters. Why do I say that? As soon as they were able to, people started giving this game a score of 0. I mean, seriously? They go on and on about Nintendo “not learning anything,” yet they fail to explain what it is exactly that they haven’t learned. For reference, user score for Modern Warfare 3 is dragging on the floor for the same reason, haters. Just go read the “reviews” of those low scores and have fun.

  22. I have been playing for the past 7 hours now and I haven’t had any problems with controls unlike these people who have been saying otherwise. I’m not being biased because today was the first time I had ever used the Wii Motion Plus. I’ll admit I was rather skeptical at first about it but today I can say that I really like it. And I didn’t pay attention to the gamespot guy, because I quickly caught on with the use of the control. (Or I actually read the manual)

I like the fact that the game makes it difficult to kill your enemies without wildly hacking and slashing everything in sight like in Twilight Princess so this feature is really great, I love a good challenge.

  23. Protip, guys. Games like Skyward Sword that intimidate competition ALWAYS get large numbers of low votes. Obsessive CoD lovers or Nintendo haters or what have you are going to give the game a zero if they think it looks better than the games *they* like (the immature ones, I guess). I mean, look at GTA IV. It’s got a 98 critic score but 7.5 user score. I don’t think anyone could justify giving that game a 0, let alone Skyward Sword, without being some butthurt little fanboy aching over how this game outshines their personal GOTY. The user scores are highly skewed by fanboy bias, so don’t trust them. Go off the critic’s score to make a real judgement.

  24. i have skyrim, skyward sword and mario land 3d. i have played each for over 20 odd hours and can say this- skyrim is an amazing expansive game world where you can create your own hero and live and play the game in your own way or decide your own fate if u will. this is only the equivilant of a gaming ‘mirage’ though, as there isnt infinite possibilities and outcomes, as there is nothing u can do which wasnt coded in the game. however, the illusion of complete ‘freedom’ and a bucketload of blood is enough for the so-called hardcore. there has been no major evolution in bethesdas games either. for me, its a bit souless and takes itself a bit too seriously. mario 3d is the perfect antidote for me- portable smile-inducing gaming at its best. a celebration of pick up and play mario and not meant as a revolution. and as for skyward sword? i have had no control issues and standing in the middle of my living room with the lights off and just me and my widescreen, i am feel more immersed in and part of this game than skyrim could ever dream to be. yeah, skyrims great- but with skyward sword, i AM link….

    1. Damn you, i’ve also been playing Skyward Sword in my room with the lights off and my big TV. I now understand what the gamespot reviewer was referring to when he mention the “pointer” thing, and I have to say, I feel sorry for him and he is a sad gamer/person. The game ALWAYS has the pinter in the center when you enter flight mode, use the slingshot, etc., and the game will detect the current position of the controller as being the center. In other words, it eliminates the issue of the IR that were present in TP and in other Wii games. If you want to use that, just point at the screen before you enter one of these modes and the pointer will be centered.

It’s not that the controller loses track of your position; it’s just that it was structure this way to allow more freedom. I figured this out when I first booted up the game in the title screen. I feel sorry for those people who played the game 30+ hours without knowing how to work the controls.

Btw, some complains were about the “slow” intro lasting about 2 hours, yet it took me about 40 minutes to get through that with some exploration. There’s option to do more, but it’s not necessary for the story to progress. I just finished the first temple. I’m taking a break since I’ve got other things to do, but I’ll do more throughout the week. Loving the game so far.

      1. i completely agree with you mate. i was only used to using a joypad until a few months ago, and since ive bought a wii, nintendo has brought back the kid in this 32yr old! lol. basically, the games industry NEEDS the innovation and pedigree that only nintendo bring to software and hardware. if all the trolls and haters ever had their way and gaming was only sony/microsoft, it would be a sad and souless pastime and a triumph only for fat men in suits holding sales percentage sheets.

        1. You sir are correct….I’m 24 I buy all of sonys and nintendos consoles but nintendo gives you a feeling you can’t get out of any other company pure fun. If only more people gave nintendo a chance and didn’t right there games off as childrens games the world would be a better place.

  25. I’d care more if it looked like a single negative reviewer had even played the game. A lot of the accounts seem to have been made specifically for trashing Zelda’s score. All this is proof of is that no one should ever visit that god awful site again.

  26. I can guarantee you, with money on the table, that a good portion of these “reviewers” haven’t even played the game and hate Nintendo because they are either Sony or Microsoft bigots.

  27. What’s up with you guys? The game only came out today obviously nobody’s finished it yet., so how can they review it properly?

  28. I am at the third temple and so far I see no reasons why I schould play this instead of skyrim or gears 3.Hopefully it will pick up later on, otherwise I cannot see how this could be better than twilight princess. It is worth mentioning that I prefer the dark zeldas over the cute and colorful ones (majora is my fav).

  29. As much as I love Zelda, you shouldn’t just guess that purely because of a low score from someone that it is because they haven’t finished the game, you are not reporting this news as a neutral party any more.

  30. You know, just because someone doesn’t like Links newest adventure makes them stupid, retarded, terrible at the game, and other dumb stuff?

  31. Hey guys, don’t know you if you know but the bad critics started because one anon OP who hate zelda started a thread (4chan) and asked people to give low score.

  32. lol, it doesn’t matter how many bad comments or critics are made. I’ve played games that have been evaluated with 4 or 5, and they are the best games I’ve ever played, and also played 8-10 scored games and aren’t really good, so it would all depend on the tase. Certainly scores wouldn’t stop me from buying a game that I want.

  33. As I am currently about 40 hours into the game (from the UK where it was released early, and the company I pre-ordered form sent it a day early), and nearing the final parts of the game while completing all the sidequests up to this point, I took the time away form playing the game to give quite a long review of this game on the Metacritic website. I gave it a 10/10 as the only things I found to be problematic in this game are either not needed to complete it, or are very subjective things that will change form person to person.

I will only know after a long time after I finish this game, but I believe this game to be one of my favourite game of all time, and may like it more than Ocarina of Time. Definitely deserves at least a 9.

(My review is under the name “Dixavd” if you wish to read it, and can ask me questions about the game so far here. I did not give any spoilers in my review.)

  34. Some of the reviews are terrible. One said the controls are clunky but with a brand new Wii remote (the gold one of course), they were spot on. Unless their Wii remote is broken the controls are really good. I was thoroughly impressed, especially since I’ve been playing PS3 with the Move and as such have been ignoring my Wii for the past year or more.

  35. I’ve read some reviews stating the game deserves a 0 simple because “gamecube controllers don’t work with it”. I’ve also read the ridiculous review of “‎I bought this game for my son who owns a ps3. It does NOT play on playstation 3s and I will be sending amazon and nintendo a complaint about this.” Honestly, some people’s stupidity amazes me

    1. repeting myself here:
One anon OP who hate zelda started a thread (4chan) and asked people to give it low score. That’s why there’s so many bad reviews talking nonsense there.

  36. Great, user scores. WHO GIVES A DAMN?

This is why the Golden Joysticks is a terrible awards ceremony, because fanboys always vote for the ‘big names’ online, and either a stupid, generic FPS will win the award (though Portal 2 was a good winner, to be fair) and amazing games like this get overlooked.

I’ll just sit back and look at the CRITIC score. THE ONE THAT PEOPLE CARE ABOUT.
