    1. disagreed.
As a big fan of the franchise I played portable tri (imported the JP-Version) for the psp and the process of being able to play online (without a ps3) was aweful, I even had to hack my psp at one point in order to install a usb plugin.
As long as the 3DS is homebrew free such means are impossible to do the game should only be released in the West wit ha proper online modus, since the density of players here is much lower than in JP, the just have to go to a online-cafe and have a 4-man party together, which is impossible here.
The multiplayer feature is the most important point in this game and a western localisation would need an online modus in order to be aucesfull (even if it is via the Wii or whatever).

      1. @Zai
Well the 3DS version doesn’t have online play, so not sure what to say to you on that one. Even if it did i still enjoy playing the game by myself which i did on the ps2 when i bought em way back when. I tried the psp MH’s(except portable tri) when a friend let me borrow it for the week and it was still a enjoyable experience for me.

Yeah it’s a bummer since i rather enjoyed Monster Hunter Tri’s multiplayer on the Wii ,but since this 3DS version is only local multiplayer it’s not gonna hinder the experience for me much. Though it does also help since my girlfriend also has a 3DS(took advantage of that Target sale ty @sickr for the info btw) and we live together so local multiplayer won’t be to much of a hassle for me. I know that doesn’t apply to everyone but I’d still rather get it.

  1. If it comes to the west it probably will have online multiplayer, but in Japan they don’t need it and can get away with local.

Reading anything into a lack of online in the Japanese version is pointless.

    1. Actually, I plan on getting Monster Hunter 4 instead, but I agree that the game needs online multiplayer. If it doesn’t, I fear there will be no one to hunt with.

  2. I think we need a Big Monster Hunter title on the home consoles
with the next Gen coming up its about time Cross platform multiplayer is introduced and i think Monster Hunter would be a great Title to break that barrier

  3. See what Nintendo products can do for you Capcom? So maybe…. just maybe Mega Man Legends 3 could do the same. Anyways congrats and I hope you bring this game and Monster Hunter 4 to the west.

  4. I’ll be picking this game as soon as its out. Or ordering it from the UK cause im a cheap bastard. Regardless, awesome game will be awesome. Can’t wait for MH4 either :D

    HUNT TEAM ASSEMBLE!

  5. This game is local multiplayer… this means it’ll be an instant HIT. All games that are local co-op are games I want to Play!

They also require 2 game cards to play. Double to revenue.

Portables are designed for games like this. You give me Monster Hunter – I’ll buy a 3DS. Fact.
