Super Mario Bros Is Coming To The Japanese Nintendo 3DS eShop Next Week

Nintendo has announced that the classic Super Mario Bros will be coming to the Japanese eShop for 500 yen starting January 5 in Japan. Super Mario Bros is the second paid NES download for the eShop with The Legend of Zelda appearing last week. Nintendo has yet to announce the games for the West.

    1. It does not make sence because i alredy have SMB on my 3DS from ambassadors. WHY DOES NINTENDO MAKE ME PAY FOR THE 3D BIT NOW?

        1. No they said these games might come in the future, BUT when/if they did we would get the update for free. it does feel like a slap to the face considering how soon theyre releasing the first one.

          1. Except to those of us who actually didn’t have the money to buy a 3ds when it first came out… seriously. You guys should really not be pissed, you got like, what was it, 20-25 new games? Well, yeah, waah waah, one of my 25 new games is out to people who couldn’t afford the new games, waah waah. Geeze. Man, this comment lookes harsh. Just, can you guys please just stop being annoyed? Thanks.

            1. yeeeah, i dont think anybody was talking to you, so how about you stop complaining about complainers who WE’RE able to afford the system.

        2. Actually they said that the ten NES games would be released eventually. But they had no plans to release the GBA games on the eShop.

      1. You do not pay for the 3D. You get a FREE update when it’s done. It is only for sale for those that DO NOT have it.

Also, only the 10 GBA games were to be exclusive.

      2. I think it’s even more necessary to point out that the games aren’t getting remade in 3D. The paid versions, when released, will also have the multi-player and restore point functions that the ambassador version didn’t. E.g. how you can create a restore point in all other Virtual Console games. But when they get released, people with the ambassador version will be able to update to the same thing for free. So nintendo isn’t making you pay for anything if you already have it as an ambassador, and the “3d bit” doesn’t exist.

  1. The Legend of Zelda was released in the eShop in Japan?! What the crud!? I’ve been trying to find a GBA SP just to play that game and they can just download it!? I IS Mad….

    1. NIntendo 3DS ambassadors get 2 Zelda titles, which both are the NES version, and later on we got Zelda: Minish cap

if you;re not an ambassador, well… too bad

    2. ??? The GBA version of The legend of Zelda was only available in Japan…

Also, ALL the ambassadors already have it on their 3DSs. You’re late to the party dude.

      1. First of , What the fuck is wrong with you people, Sickr Doesn’t say anything about it being 3D and second of all IF it does get updated to 3D We’re getting the update free.

      2. Good god, can you people stop!? This is getting out of hand.
1- GBA Games are still exclusive
2- Most 3ds users are not ambassadors, so Nintendo might not think it’s fair
3- Even if ALL the games are released at a later time, which they probably will, you’ll still have had them longer AND for free.
4- If it IS a 3d classic you can update it for free
5- Nintendo might be a loving company, but they’re like any other company at heart: they need to make money. The most popular games will be released earlier.
6- You should be happy for people who finally get the game, and NOT act selfish.

  2. when Nintendo want to! a little reminder, when these games come to our e-shop the ambassadors can update the games for free.

  3. If I remember correctly, they did not plan on releasing the GBA games to the eShop. I also seem to remember something was said about games being updated when they are released to the general public. This is probably what they meant. Correct me if I’m wrong.

    1. Yes you are correct, Only the GBA games are exclusive to ambassadors; the NES ones where always going to be released at a later time to the public and would cost money to none-ambassadors.

  5. My question is, are people supposed to pay for this even if they have it for the Wii? Does that mean everyone will have to rebuy everything again? Unless they add updated graphics/3D, I don’t see why people should buy these. Right now it’s only ambassador games, but what will happen in the future?

    1. No ones asking you to fucking buy them. It’s for people who don’t already have those games, or have them and wouldn’t mind having them on a handheld, in one place, on their 3DS. Use your common sense. Jesus.

      1. his question doesnt concern you, its to people who already own the game, no shit people who already own it most likely wont rebuy it. unlesd like he stated is updated graphicly/3D. comon sense isnt so comon now a days smh

  6. but I own these already on Wii… I’m hoping that when the Wii U launches there will be cross platform Playability between My VC games on 3DS and on the Wii/Wii U… cause i own a ton … and I won’t rebuy them just to play them on my 3DS…
