HMV Apologises For Dual Circle Pad Nintendo 3DS XL Blunder

HMV has apologised for a point of sale display that one of its stores put up which displayed a fan-made image of the Nintendo 3DS XL complete with a second Circle Pad. A company spokesperson says it was a simple mistake by one of its stores, and that the retail chain wasn’t deliberately trying to mislead consumers.

“It’s apparent this was just one particular store being a little over-enthusiastic, and the poster has been removed.”

“If it’s caused anyone any issues then we’re sorry, but I’d say it doesn’t take much to work out this doesn’t represent the company’s retail offer for this release.”

  2. The funniest part is that it isn’t even a photoshop of the existing 3DS. That’s the one they showed in E3 2010, the prototype.

      1. You can tell it’s E3 2010 because of the red circle pad. They matched the console back then, rather than all of them being grey.

  3. I never shop at HMV anyway, because its for casual gamers who pay their rip-off prices.

Smart gamers buy online and dont get ripped-off by dick sucking high street chains

    1. Yup, they’re selling NSMBWii in my local one for £42.99, which is more than it was when it came out nearly 3 years ago!
