Project CARS – Gorgeous Time Lapse (Video)

Project CARS’ developers, Slightly Mad Studios, released a brand-new video – shown above – which shows the dynamic detail from their upcoming racing game. Notice how everything’s appearance changes based on the lighting of the environment. The developers promise that the time of the day, the weather and the clouds will help create a “stunningly realistic driving experience.” Project CARS will be released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and Wii U.

      1. hmm, strange. the new link you gave me is a story from days ago that ive already read. while on your facebook page the broken link was posted only 20 hours ago…

                1. i no it is but these visuals are TOO good for ANY console. It looks like PC Quality to me…console version will prob still look fantastic… just not as good as what I am seeing ;)

                    1. but we know it wont have top gaming PC specs as it will not be the 250-300 dollars that is speculated it would have to sell at a large price and that is not going to sell many units

                      1. eh.. we don’t know if project cars requires top gaming pc specs tho for these kinds of visuals

developers have pulled off some astonishing visuals with very limited hardware in the past

                        1. PC
                          Wii U (hopefully)
                          ps3
                          xbox360
                          Wii
for once I agree with U
((MII,WII,U) is harder to type for Mii how you U remeber to do it all the time)

                      2. I normally wouldn’t upgrade my PC to play games at full strength, but this is an exception.

Holy crap, it shouldn’t be acceptable to play this on a low-end PC.

                      3. Damn, that one of the best night times in gaming ive ever seen, would love to see what its like where there a moon in the sky

                      4. …….
That’s nice and all, but……what’s the game play like?
I mean, is there anything that makes it different or special?
Cause, I’m gonna be honest, visuals, even nice ones like this, just aren’t going to sell me on a game.
I mean, sure, I’ll fawn over a few select things every once in a while[ Xenoblade Chronicles: Night time in Satorl Marsh, for instance], but in the end, the rest of the game has to deliver a more compelling experience than the eye candy.
So, what does Project Cars have going for it besides the sparkly new shell of visuals?

                        1. Im wondering the same thing. The advantage is could have other over games is being a high octane racer, but if its not, could fall in the same position GT has

                          1. Same! Just got to the marsh! What level are you at? Cus I’m don’t want to progress too far through it without being a high enough level… I’m at level 27 at the mo.

                                      1. Well, I can’t speak for others, but I generally try to train in an area until all the enemies [that are within my level range] get black-colored names.
No yellows or whites, but if I’m in a hurry then I may stop once they are white-level to me. [IIRC, black is under-leveled compared to you, white is equal level to you, yellow is higher level, and red is “screw with it and you’ll likely die” level.]

A generally good idea is to fight all of the monsters in an area that are not super-leveled monsters[like that lvl 70-something giant in the Gaur Plains on Bionis’ Leg] until none of them are aggro’d when you walk by them.
It’ll save your hide later, over-leveling like that.

                                          1. Alright, thanks for the advice! I didn’t realise the colour of the enemy’s name shows how powerful it is compared to you. That could be quite useful. But I am totally loving this game. Honestly, I am starting to think that it’s as good Zelda, and that’s a HUGE thing coming from me. So far it’s one of the best games I’ve played.

                                          2. Great game isnt it banana? I especially love the bit where DICKSON betrays you and is actually a disciple to Zanza who is the final boss!!

Also Fiora is still alive later in the game! She is just inside one of the faced mechon. The faced mechon that killed her is MumhKar, dickson and dunban’s partner in the opening sequence of the game

                                            SPOILER

                                            1. I also love it when you find out you were dead all along and you make friends with Egil who gets killed by Zanza on the mechonis. Great game. I hope I didnt ruin it for you ;)

                                          3. The visuals in this game are gorgeous. IIRC the Wii U visuals should be close to PC visuals. Don’t hold me to that, though. Leave luck to heaven.

                                            1. I agree with you. This racing sim looks very promising. Project CARS for the Wii U would make an epic addition to the racing genre. What Slightly Mad Studios needs right now is a publisher.

                                              1. They should approach Nintendo with that offer because Nintendo is publishing some 3rd party games for the Wii U. Ninja Gaiden 3, Project P-100 and some others.

If this does happen it may become a Wii U exclusive.

                                                1. wii u exclusive? they are already making the game for all consoles. They have already spent cash! Would be a stupid move financially for them. Why limit to one console?

                                                2. Sega as has already approach them I think I read that a while back….We just gotta wait and see.

                                                  Get N or get OUT!!!!!

                                              2. siegfried von schroder

As i remember failtendo said that they will reveil wiiu’s specs when its released so that meens that when you buy it nintendo will say the specs and if the specs are useless then you gave money to a useless console

                                                1. Well Specs are looking not too bad. It is actually looking to be a NEXT gen console with Increased Teselation, Also do some homework… Crytek said the wiiU is far stronger than a 360. Matter in fact, the wiiU running on lowest settings already beats the 360 in power at its best.

I am not a Nintendo fanboy but I DO MY homework and I recommend you do. I also have a 360 before you give me your xbox is da best fanboy comment.

ps: am off on holiday soon so I feel really generous… here is the article that proves my above point :) Thank you please come again!

                                                      1. I hope it will be powerful enough to compete with PS4\720. There are rumors that say that PS4 will use the lastest Raedon HD GPU. I looked at it at the official AMD site and I don’t think it’s possible because it may end up being VERY expensive! I mean holy shit, Raedon HD 7970 can support the holy 4k resolution!

                                                        1. I hope WIi U will support OpenGL 4.2 and Shader Model 5.0. That would be pretty cool and it would make able to compete with PS4\720… That’s my opinion tho.

                                                        2. How painful is it going to be for haters when the realize that those are the beta version of the game, running at the Wii U minimum strength. Remember at it’s minimum most setting. That meaning, that when all but one core on the Wii U is running; at 1/2 of that core’s capacity. It is still more powerful than the exbox 360. Here is how you can know the Wii U is a beast. It can support two WiiU screen touch pads, four Wii-motes, two 3DSs while playing the next brawl : AT THE SAME DAM TIME :).

                                                        3. 1. two touch pads that drop at 30fps when used in unison ;)

ps: Dont say the haters. You are just going to bring trolls to the site. Also dont speak too soon when the CONFIRMED specs are not out yet :P and also before the 2 other consoles come! If they are more powerful then you might need to eat your words :P

Am not criticising u… am just saying :P

Also where does it say that video is the wiiU version? looks PC to me…

                                                            1. That’s still insanely good, seeing as the system has to render two or three different screens at once. That should be proof enough that it’s pretty beast and, again, NO ONE is expecting the Wii-U to be more powerful than the PS4/720. We’re just expecting all of the consoles to be close and power. Oh and yeah, it’s probably the PC version. No developer could’ve possibly used the Wii-U dev kit to produce a game that good in about a year or even get a game to look that good during it’s entire lifetime.

                                                          2. I love Nintendo.
                                                            I only buy Nintendo.

But i still think Forza and Gran Turismo will piss all over this.

                                                            1. Because i work away from home a lot.

So whats the point in me buying 3 home consoles?

And before you mention the Sony Vita being a portable machine … i dont like the rear touch pad.
