Sources close to online publication CVG suggest that the Wii U release date has been delayed to December across Europe. The source claims that manufacturing issues for the Wii U GamePad are the cause of the delay. Nintendo has yet to announce pricing or a release date for the console, only saying that it will be released this Holiday season.

Thing is, I live in Australia, but I doubt the Wii U will see a launch in Australia until January 2013. It’s likely to be released in December this year for the US though.

Now, on topic: If a delay for Europe/Australasia WERE to occur, then it wouldn’t be that big of a deal. Seriously, is an extra month (or two, MAX) THAT much of a drama? It is a monumental task for any company to ship a product worldwide (let alone simultaneously), let alone a next-gen piece of hardware. Rushing such a thing to market could lead to peformance and reliability issues – something that is far worse than a mere delay. Case in point – RROD (which cost Microsoft a BILLION dollars).
Oh, and sickr – I found this site a little while back, and I just want to say what a great job you’re doing (even if many of the foul-mouthed deviants here can’t see that)!
