Monster Hunter 4 To Feature Online Multiplayer, Plus TGS Trailer

Although Nintendo 3DS’ version of Monster Hunter Ultimate won’t feature online play, it was revealed during this week’s TGS that Monster Hunter 4 will support online multiplayer. Capcom confirmed that Monster Hunter 4 will launch in Japan in March 2013.

            1. Then no game gets released…because no demand to supply to.

One begets the other – there’s no other reasoning for them to follow here.

              1. Capcom just reskins their games. They don’t put effort into anything anymore. RE6, their entire fighting lineup, I’m sure there are others.

They are an evil company who prays solely on money. There is no point in supporting them.

                1. As an ace Attorney fan, one somewhat disagrees with that statement as a blanket comment, but your point certainly is not entirely meritless…however, it is also made blindly in anger at a company faced with a PR problem and whom are actively trying to take steps to both appease Japanese HQ and the western audiences. It’s not a situation that the US branch can actively handle in a hurry…it’s going to be a long process.

                  1. Capcom does more to piss off their fans, than satisfy them. They are showing no signs at stopping. But that’s okay, let them keep churning out the same three IPs and we’ll see how long that lasts.

                    1. I like capcom for resident evil, street fighter, mega man,and many more.Capcom is like nintendo’s cousin who does them favors and will help them.

      1. That won’t even be an issue. MH4 will make it to the West, and it will likely be published by Nintendo as they did with Tri.

      2. Why would I buy a game I wouldn’t enjoy just for the sake of a game I would enjoy only MAYBE happening? I don’t have excess money to toss around like that.

Plus, I know how Monster Hunter works. The entire hook is going on party-based hunts with other people. Doing that through local wiress only may work just fine in Japan where you don’t even have room to stretch without bumping into someone else with a 3DS. But over here in the states, and especially the rural area I live in? Not so much. Online play is practically a requirement for any kind of multiplayer.

So again. Capcom. Bring the online-capable multiplayer-centric game over, and I’ll most likely buy it. Heck, I WILL buy it, as I’ve been wanting a good opportunity to delve into Monster Hunter. But I’m not going to waste time and money on something I can’t get my time and money’s worth out of. ‘Nuff said.

  1. Gawd I swear I had a fanboygasm when they announced that new weapon. I’m gonna pwn with that bad boy next, though it does seem a little cheap, like the longsword

  2. Why the hell would I get “Ultimate” when it lacks multiplayer and originality of being a new game. It s just a port of tri, withought online. I would rather spend money on Monster Hunter 4 since it has all the things Ultimate has except better. Logical sense.

    1. Are you a spastic?
How is this game a port of tri?

Ultimate has about 90% more content than there was in tri.
Ultimate is a combination of both Tri and Portable3rd. So the content from portable 3rd alone is going to be a whole new game for some western players, who didn’t hack/mod their psp. And for those who did play portable 3rd like myself and loved it, get to play through a fully translated version with the added bonus of all the under water areas bringing a different style of play. Ultimate has all weapon types, unlike Tri that had next to none compared.

And that’s not even mentioning all the new subspecies, armours and weps that were in neither Tri or the legendary Portable3rd

And if you don’t wanna listen to sense, then it’s as simple as. If Ultimate doesn’t sell well in the west. We probably wont see MH4. Personally I don’t care about 4. I got the game I wanted. You still gotta earn yours lol

      U MAD BRO?

      1. You forget to mention that Ultimate links up to your wiiu and 3ds and allows to you transfer save files and even play localy together on different systems .

people bitching about no online – you are supposed to buy the wiiu and the 3ds version . so you can play online when on your wiiu and then take your character for training whilst you are out and about on 3ds !!

all in all , monster hunter ultimate is basically a brand new game !

        1. Ha ha, Yeah I forgot about the cross play. Just too much awesomeness for one post, I’m afraid. thanks for the back up xD

It saddens me that ignorant fools are allowed to have a voice.

  3. peteriuss evil back up clone

Fuck this shit it should have bin on the Vita mother fuckers of nintendogay fans bullshit bitch ass :[

    1. Why are you crying for?
If you like this game, just buy a 3ds to play it like I did.
And if your mad because you cant afford multiple consoles. Then thats your problem for being poor.

      So stop hating!

      1. If you haven’t heard of it, then you’re not a real gamer.

Keiji Inafune’s masterpiece will give a gigantic finger to MH4. He actually cares about the gamers, Capcom does not.

        1. I like how you think you’re in a position to call someone a “true gamer”, when really all you do is support your own opinions and shit on those of others.

  4. Still prefer the look of Tri G, but if they clean up the graphics a little then I think I will get this one too. Also, I think there is a very high chance we’ll get this one, all of the other main series games have been released in Europe/America without question, right?

  5. eurocom uk my bro works there

“THE 3DS DOESN’T HAVE SHIT GOING FOR IT.

Monster Hunter 4 looks so stale after that SS footage, it’s not even funny. But it’s okay, the Japanese will gobble up any of Capcom’s rehashing. It happen’s all the time really.”

If you watch this trailer and admit that this game isn’t “stale” I’ll leave it at that.

But if you can honesty watch that trailer and say its not a fresh new take on the series, you will never live it down. Everything you say will be invalid. Be prepared for the shit storm that’s coming, in other words.

    The choice is yours…

      1. Wether you find it impressive or not is another story. But to say that this game is not a fresh new take with increased mobility and gameplay mechanics is foolish.

      2. You’re a obviously an attention seeking fanboy, who just doesn’t have an interest in the franchises Nintendo has to offer. That’s fine. But just because YOU don’t like the company, doesn’t mean it sucks as a whole. The sales numbers say Nintendo > Sony, so your opinion aside, feel free to do the math.

    1. You have got to at least try Monster Hunter at some point. Honestly, Monster Hunter 3 Tri was the best online game for Wii. Adding friends and communicating was simple and easy and I had a great experience with the online play. The series is not for everyone but if you enjoy an action-RPG with lots of loot collecting than this series is for you. If you want a game that you can play through the whole thing in 3-5 hours than this game is not for you.

  7. This game looks absolutely amazing! This is the best looking 3DS game I have seen to date. If this comes to the U.S. I will have to buy this game. Right now it is my most wanted 3DS game.
