Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has attempted to calm investors by informing them that more third party games should be on their way. Iwata says that it’s Nintendo’s job to revitalise interest in the console which will then drive sales. He says that more unannounced third party games will come once they renew interest in the platform with a strong first party lineup.
“When it comes to third-party software, this slide shows a list of games that have already been announced. It is not my position to mention which titles each third-party developer will release in the future. However, more unannounced titles will come. We hope to revitalize the platform with our strong first-party lineup, and then an enriched third-party software lineup will follow.”

GTA V Battlefield 4 which is unlikely Star Wars pretty much CORE GAMES not WII FIT U OR WII PARTY U that’s why u lost fans in the first place.
Wii Fit is one of the reasons the Wii sold so many systems, and when those same people hear about the Wii Fit U, it’ll have the same effect.
Who the hell cares about the damn sales? I don’t bevause I am not one of the people who get that money, I am one of those who want the games!

Because it had the special control type which is great but it was gimmicky in 99% of Wii’s games except the handful of good ones. How much games did Wii users buy on average and how much did 360 or PS3 gamers get?
It was cheap shit perfect for families.
Because Sony already had it’s hand up a lot of third-party developer’s arses after the success of the PS2 and I’d rather have some shit games selling on the system (the key word there is SELLING) so that developers realise that theres money to be made and the good ones ARE released on the system.
NES and SNES (2 systems just like PS1/PS2) were very sucessful too but N64 didn’t get much games.
It was handycapped by the cartridges but the PS3 was handicapped by its hugely expensive pricepoint and its hard to develop for environment.
Do you remember the first year of the PS3? It didn’t sell for shit and the games coming out were a massively reduced number in comparison to the previous PS2 and the (at the time) new XBox 360. It only picked up when the exclusives started coming. I agree, the N64 didn’t do too well, mainly due, like you say, to the inferior cartridge system and the amount data that those cartridges could hold. But the games that DID come out were classics.
GTA V is very likely as Rockstar is considering making this game on Wii U & PC. Don’t soak into the rumors, but what Rockstar has said out their own mouths.

To get to some areas in the games levels you need a skylander (figure) of a certain element. Unless you buy a £100 worth of figures you’re experience in the game is really limited. Playing with just a couple of skylanders gets really boring and repetetive

The problems is not in the consumer but on the games they want to sell us. I can easily say that there are 10 games better suit for wiiu than the other consoles and 15 that they will sell anywhere.

GTA V. I HOPE!!! It will sell trust me!!! And besides, what does Rockstar have to worry about. Wii U showed that it has the graphics and can handle 1080p. All they have to do is focus on Wii U’s GPU. NOT THE CPU BUT THE GPU! That’s where the power’s at. Yet Ness wanted to act like Shin was lying and Nintendo paid him to say that. Thanks X, and Boyonetta. You two games did a good job proving Wii U haters wrong. The hardware has the power, it’s up to Nintendo on how they will use it in order to sell it.

Please be GTA5, Destiny, and Kingdom Hearts 3. Those 3 games pretty much seem perfect for the WiiU at this point, especially Kingdom Hearts 3. Even the Xbone got Kingdom Hearts 3 and it’s probably not even gonna sell good on that console, but it would on WiiU.

Just change the characters, title, background and story and you have 15 exclusives. Most of them might not even get racked as high as a Nintendo exclusive.

Considering all of Nintendo fanboys have told me that “nobody buys Nintendo consoles for 3rd parties” (except me, of course, I play Nintendo consoles for the third parties, Mario games don’t interest me one bit). By the time those Nintendo first party games release in 2014 I already will have bought my PS4 (the first non Nintendo console I will ever own in my life). So it will be too late because once I have my PS4 I will buy those 3rd party games for the PS4.

Why would you buy a Nintendo console for its third-party content? Wii U, Wii and Gamecube third party titles are always seen as the bottom of the litter compared to Microsoft and Sony consoles. I’m not trying to call you out, I’m just curious why you would stick with Nintendo for third-party games. Most (if not all) Nintendo supporters stick with the Big N for their first-party games. Which include more than “baby Mario games,” by the way.

I agree completely. What Nintendo offers us is games that both myself and my wife can enjoy together, rather than me sitting alone in the dark playing against some random strangers over an internet connection.

He’s saying both. He’s saying that Nintendo will sell the console on it’s first party games coming in 2013-2014 that will bring up the userbase for 3rd parties to sell better on the system. Also that they have more UNANNOUNCED 3rd party games that they for some reason won’t reveal yet.

That’s why I said “I don’t care…..” A good PC is not expensive. 500$ and you can play everything flawlessly. The 100-150/200$ difference to PS4/Wii U gets compensated by cheaper games.

I don’t live in the US, I pay my stuff with €’s. But even 500€ or 500£ are enough for a good rig. It’s also possible to buy used parts because unlike Xbox one there’s no hardware DRM on them.
I actually agree with you here. I own a PC for the technical side and the Wii U for it’s first party exclusives. A good PC should set you back as little as £400 if you shop around.

some of these games should have been ready for Launch, not 2014, either they got them ready for launch or they delayed the Wii U Launch
This is what I’ve been saying for ages now; a lot of third parties are taking the lazy way out.
They don’t want to develop games for the Wii U because they think it’s a risk.
They want lazy-ass ports to sell again on the new system because they think it’s the “safe bet”.
That’s backfired on them when the Nintendo fan-base has basically said that they won’t fully support half-done games with lacking DLC and missing features.[I’m looking at you, Sniper Elite V2 and Mass Effect 3]
So now it falls to Nintendo’s first and second party studios to show these cretins how it’s done.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really excited for Arkham Origins, Assassin’s Creed 4, Deus Ex and Rayman Legends. I plan on buying them all. But Nintendo’s third-party support is a joke. They need to be working NOW to win developers over by showing them what they’ve got coming that will help sell the system. Without going directly to those third-party developers and showing them how much stronger their first-party titles will be a year from now, they’re not going to magically get third-party support. I love Nintendo, but they’ve really botched the first year of what should have been a successful launch for such an innovative and exciting new console.

Mark Rubin did hint of COD:Ghost coming to Wii U (with perhaps an ability to pet your dog riley a la Nintendogs, he he he).
And Reggie’s interview with Geoff, he did smile when asked about COD and said, that they’ll have to ask Activision for it, since they can’t announce anything for them. That certain smile indicating a hint of confirmation.
As for KH3: what was initially thought to be an exclusive to PS4, turned out to be coming for XBone too, so who knows.
It’s a lie. Iwata himself confirmed there are no games. Because he is saying that they will revitalize the platform before third paties launch their titles and they dont even bother to put the Wii U logo beside PS4 and XBOne when they announced titles for that console.
