Capcom recently announced that special downloadable content for Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies would be released overseas. However, the quiz DLC – which was announced alongside the pirate-themed DLC in Japan – will not be seeing the light of day in the west. According to a Capcom representative on the Unity boards, the quiz DLC will not feature as it requires foreknowledge of Japanese culture. Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies is set for release some time this year for the Nintendo 3DS.
“Unfortunately, the quiz DLC won’t be coming to western territories since it requires an in-depth knowledge of Japanese culture.” – Capcom Representative
No issue. Westerners love Pirates. If there’s Ninja DLC to go with that, money will be thrown at Capcom.
I don’t think most of us care about cultures in games whatever they are…
speak for yourself
I guess that makes sense.
Nintendo doesn’t usually get DLC. We’re used to it. :(
They made the right choice, how many westerners are going to want this Japanese quiz on their game ? maybe 2% ? lol
That’s pretty disappointing. I like knowing about the Ace Attorney series and even if I didn’t know about japanese culture enough, I could learn by getting the questions wrong.
And I who thought that the Ace Attorney series was actually localized… To bad that’s impossible with DLC.
Passing knowledge of Japanese culture is all I’ll ever want, so whatever.
I know Japanese culture, been there a buncha times. What about me? Why should I be punished because other people are noobs. Poop.
