The courtroom drama starring ‘Ace Attorney’ Phoenix Wright is due for release this Fall on the Nintendo 3DS and, although it might not sport a physical boxed edition, it will be easier for newcomers of the series to adjust so they “won’t feel lost”. But that’s not to say Dual Destinies is any easier, of course, as producer Motohide Eshiro assures to fans in an interview with Game Trailers. He also believes that the franchise still has some way to go yet, so we’ll no doubt see future titles in the Phoenix Wright series.
“If you start with Dual Destinies you really won’t feel that lost. It is a brand new story; we have revamped the user interface and done a couple of other tweaks to make it a little more user-friendly for newcomers. What we haven’t done is made the game easier, because that wasn’t what we were trying to do. But I think we did succeed in making it easier to get into and I would even suggest that playing this one first and then going back and playing the older ones on your DS, or iOS, or something like that, is a perfectly legitimate way to enjoy the series as well. I think this one would be a pretty good starting point actually.
“I personally love the Ace Attorney universe. I don’t want it to end, I don’t think it will end with this. Exactly what shape it will take remains to be seen – can’t talk much about that now, but I highly doubt this will be the end of Ace Attorney and Phoenix Wright.”

Release a fucking launch date already
As much as I don’t want to buy it on the eShop, I love the Ace Attorney series to pass up this game. I guess i’ll have to suck it up and pray I don’t ever lose my 3DS.
Right. You can smash, sink, throw against the wall, and even have it stolen, and Nintendo will protect your purchases. If you lose it? You’re fucked. But guess what? If any of the valid reasons happen (damage or theft) your digital game can be downloaded, whereas Nintendo will not replace your damaged or stolen physical game. I don’t agree with eShop pricing l, but I love having my games in one spot and safe from damage or theft.
Yeah I agree. I’m just hoping that one day Nintendo decides to implement the account feature on the 3DS eShop. Life will just be peachy then aha.
I hear ya. Unfortunately, implementing an account system that also prevents piracy and game-usage abuse is tricky. I hope they figure it out someday also. I remember a few months ago, I was VERY anti-retail download. But the more games I downloaded, the more I loved having my games all available all the time. I got spoiled, upgraded my 3DS SD card, and now I probably download 70-85% of my games.
What the fuck is this anime shit!??
Just one of the greatest game series of all time. But hey, if you want to be a facetious douche and pass on some of the tightest plotting and characterization in video gaming just on account of the art style, be my guest.
We agree with you there, Sakuraimoar – if anyone is passing the series up because of shallow personal preferences in gaming, YOU are the problem with gaming…because without games like these, there’s very little else to take the edge away from all of the endless drivel that is the overflowing FPS and Sports game markets…THESE games are part of the true gems that people are looking for in good games with story/music/direction – to lose something like Ace Attorney in the west would be a truly sad event in gaming indeed.
And yet still no release date. Come on Capcom, give us the date already.

I want a physical copy to add to my collection!
I like hearing the possibility of more games to come. This series is too good to end.
Ah that’s good to hear. I only played AA 1 and 2 so I’m not sure where the story went after that. It’s good to hear that I can start over with this one.
Has one said how much we want this game?
Waiting 7 or so years for this game hasn’t dampened our desire for it one bit…
Ace Attorney is just a DAMN good series, and it should most certainly continue for as long as it can, hopefully with consistantly high quality and customer end satisfaction, as the previous titles before it have always, ALWAYS, somehow managed despite all odds!
Since Im A New Comer I Love Motohide Eshiro For Making It Easy For New Comers To The Series !
