Internet publication The Consumerist, who run a poll to decide who is eligible for America’s Worst Company Award, says that EA may once again be in the running for the award. EA has won for two years running, but have said that they don’t understand why they deserve to receive such an award. Here’s what The Consumerist had to say.
“We haven’t even begun to ask for nominations from readers for the next Worst Company In America tournament, but some are already making the case for once again giving the Golden Poo trophy to reigning two-time WCIA winner Electronic Arts.”

Can’t believe everything you read my friend. Some of the info in that article is accurate and EA definitely made some big mistakes. They’re not perfect, but I do think that they are trying to get better and we just need to give them some time. Let’s vote for Monsanto instead. (Good thing Nintendo is Japanese!)

Lol, what happened to you man. I get that you’re a big Nintendo fan, but lately you’re completely against all other companies. I love Nintendo too, but I still like EA, Microsoft, Sony, Capcom, Disney, NFL, Warner Bros, etc. I agree that realism in games is definitely not good and defeats the entire purpose of escapism (Which is the whole reason why I play video games) but it’s okay for games like Madden and Fifa. Madden wouldn’t be as fun for me if not for how realistic and fun it can be.

EA isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. It’s the whole “crowd mob” mentality. One person makes a big enough wave and everyone else jumps on to bash it. It’s like how the Cowboys are now the most hated team in Football or how you must like Lord of The Rings. It’s just something that people quickly jump on.
That being said, I was mostly joking about Nintendo. I love the company so I wouldn’t vote for them, but I could see a decent amount of people voting for them because of the Wii U. Humanity is definitely not something to hold your faith in because they keep on getting worse and worse every year. Case in point is Iron Man 3 cracking a billion and Man of Steel getting awful reviews.
Still, EA is great. I love their sports games and I try to get all of them. All of them….that’s a lot of games, but they’re always fun to play. Madden 2004 is currently my favorite.

Also, there’s no overall consensus that the Cowboys are “the most hated team” – the poll that had those results surveyed only 741 people, showed that the Cowboys actually got 2nd highest for favorite team (waaaaaaaaaat?) and even the “least favorite” stat amounted to only 23%, since football favoritism great varies across the board. I don’t even give a rat’s ass about the Cowboys but polls can be made to look favorably or unfavorably for someone with some wordplay and lack of context. There are also many, MANY people who do not like LOTR, whether it be purists who don’t like the changes made in the films, or those who just found them to be too long and dull. A simple search through the wonderful internet will reveal this.
In regards to Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel, this is completely subjective (as is just about everything). As it stands, however, I and many others find Iron Man 3 to be a very entertaining movie. I also thoroughly enjoyed Man of Steel, and while it didn’t get as favorable a critical consensus (the average score btw was about 55, which is far from awful and just shows that the movie was either very well liked or very much disliked), it was still one of the highest grossing movies of the year.
But I digress.
EA has shot themselves in the foot repeatedly with how they not only handle their game releases but how they handle dealing with their fans. This has been documented time and time again. Ignorance isn’t always bliss.
Well, I’m a collector. If EA says to jump, I say “How High”. The more games that they release, the better for me! They have made many mistakes, but we can’t dwell on their past forever. They have made noticeably fewer mistakes nowadays and if anything, Capcom is worse because they ditched Megaman. I’m just saying that they are definitely not the worst company and they’re one of my favorites. “Challenge everything” is a really cool catchphrase and one that should be admired and revered. That might be going a little far, but I just like EA a lot. Just because I buy all of their games, does not make me a “sheep” or whatever the current lingo for that is. (I’ll never get the new slang words. They just don’t make any sense!)

Ok. I’ll list some reasons why people are upset at EA.
1. SimCity (The whole always online DRM thingy)
2. Battlefield 4 (Currently pending a class action lawsuit for this)
3. Micro transactions in EVERY game
4.Command and Conquer cancelled.
5.NBA Live 14. (PS2 graphics and gameplay…..no really. go look for yourself.)
So who else has messed up this bad? The only company that’s coming close is Capcom.
I’m sure there are other things, but those were the big ticket items that I could remember off the top of my head.
EA is bad, but not conning people out of their saving and household bad. EA is no worse than the stereotypical Honest Joe used car vendor.

I really like EA though. They’re a proud company and they have a good work ethic. Their games rarely fail me. There was a soccer game that didn’t work, but it wasn’t their fault, but the store’s. EA has always been known for making quality games

Considering it is a subsidiary of Consumer Reports, a major agency that is used to gauge many companies and products across the nation, many people do.
Consumer Reports has far reaching influence and it’s kind of a shame that they keep letting this kind of polling (and other nonsense on The Consumerist) go on.

EA has great games but that’s just thanks to Bioware and other companies that DEVELOP them, while EA just only PUBLISHES them and arranges financial crap, really terribly.
We’ll see if they deserve this title after their 2014 games come out. So far, BF4 is an absolute train wreck, now let’s see if they drop the ball again with Dragon Age and Mirror’s Edge. If they do, it will probably be a golden poo this year again.

It’s not about the type of product you sell or what practices you use to sell them; it’s about the misuse of consumer trust. That’s why even though companies like Monsanto, BofA, or Shell are often reviled, at least they deliver the goods. EA can’t even do that, and they’re making products that aren’t even as essential to living as loans, gas, or crops are.

EA’s bad, but there are other awful companies out there as well. Abercrombie and Fitch (the guy that owns that place is a nut job who hates fat people), Wal*Mart (aka Skank*Mart and their overseas sweat shops and deadly Black Fridays), Some American Air Liners are terrible, Bank of America (the WORST customer support period), and scam companies funded by Obama (Solyndra, for example).
All of these companies are worthy of worst American company. Personally Skank*Mart deserves to win. I would burn their shitboxes down if I could.

Uh. No. It’s not about the worst “gaming” company, it’s about the worst company – period. So it’s absolutely ridiculous that EA keeps getting voted each time. If it were about the worst gaming company when it comes to consumer satisfaction, then that would be a different story – but it’s not. It’s not even close to that kind of poll.
It kind of sickens me to be called a gamer at times like these when such blatant displays of ignorance and lack of concern for the world apart from their own self gratification by means of entertainment, is shown by the community.
There are a lot more important things going on out there than playing video games; and a lot of these other companies are directly involved in the widespread turbulence and injustices surrounding us in the world on a daily basis.

No, the title says “Worst Company in America.” That means any American company can win. Is EA a bad company?- Yes, but they certainly treat their employees right and don’t use sweatshops. EA is just really, REALLY bad at treating their consumers right… It’s all about the money no matter what when it comes to EA. They have no problem lying through their teeth to sell a couple million games.

Get caught lying about said game needing to have DRM? Check
Releasing one of the most over hype games in such a deplotable state? Check

I could name 5 simple things that could turn it around.
1) make wij U versions if games before Xbox One or ps4 versions to boost Wii U sales, and sales of those games.
2) bring sim city to the Wii U, with Nintendo specific DLC
3) bring off line mode, and custom content to sim city.
4) revive old IP on the vita and 3DS first.
5) become a more friendly publisher and focus on indie and develop easy to use dev software for those that publish with ea .
That’s what you get for dissing Nintendo, EA. You guys gave up on the Wii U without barely even trying.

Honestly I’ve never fully enjoyed an EA game.
I honestly liked Mass Effect 3’s extended cut, Mass Effect 1 and Dante’s Inferno up to Gluttony. (and I hate God of War). My problem with EA Games is that they are half-assed, sometimes great, but still half-assed and it shows.

EA is a dreadful company it forces micro transactions into games that should not need them considering people pay full retail also their games quality has dropped a huge amount in terms of story good single player games non forced online games etc Graphics are buggy at best so much negative. Also they try hard to find new ways to rip off gamers such as dungeon keeper android/ios which are a complete slap in the original two games face. EA not the worst gaming company in America its the worst gaming company in the world with Capcom right behind it.
