US Nintendo Store Stocking Refurbished Wii U Deluxe Model For $250

January sales are in full swing, but Nintendo’s online store is hoping to catch a few new consumers by stocking refurbished Wii U deluxe models. North American consumers can now purchase a fully refurbished Wii U 32GB premium model packaged with Nintendo Land for $250. The package comes with a standard one year warranty, accessories (included in the original box), and is eligible for the Deluxe Digital Promotion. However, the deal is not eligible for Club Nintendo coins.

The refurbished Wii U shaves $100 off the original $349.99 price tag, though is a saving of $50 compared to the new bundles such as Mario and Luigi, and Wind Waker HD. Earlier today, UK retailers Argos and Amazon dropped the same bundle’s price temporarily to £179.99 from £299.99.

    1. Its never too soon to repair a broken console, not to mention its cheaper for a company to repair a broken one vrs building a completely new one.

    2. Units damaged in shipping or any other problems (broken internal components, ect) are likely refurbished and a new unit is sent back to consumer/store. Enough stock has apparently been gathered at this point to start offering refurbished units. Nintendo needs to work with retailers such as Gamestop on providing refurb units as this would offer much greater visibility than the Nintendo store. I usually never visit the N-store and really have only after reading about the refurb wii-mote precision w/ nunchuck for only $20 sale on a nintendo reddit forum.

        1. It is odd though. Why would one drop the $20-30+ on Nintendoland without having a U console? I’m assuming they got it free as a promotion or from a friend.
Nintendoland is actually very highly underrated in my opinion. I wish they would release a followup with a much more expanded metroid game. That was AWESOME imo. The pikmin mini was great too, along with the zelda, ghost find mii, ect. They are actually all very entertaining. They really need to come out with a followup with more robust missions, gameplay, unlockables. I would gladly pay $60 on a game like this. Just drop the corny “carnival” layout and have the coin collectibles in a vault or an open arena that you can access separately. The carnival is just too confusing/cluttered and takes away from the experience.

  1. OHH LOOK WHAT A STEAL. IT SAVES ME $50 BUCKS FROM BUYING IT BRAND NEW AT THE STORE.

FUCK U NINTENDO. GO STEAL SOMEWHERE ELSE.

          1. I DONT CARE IF THOSE WII US WERE 350. THE POINT IS THAT NOW U CAN GRAB THE MARIO, ZELDA AND SKYLANDERS BUNDLE FOR $299. AND IF YOU GO BUY THAT REFURBISHED ONE U ONLY SAVE $50. IM TALKING PRESENT NOT PAST STOP DEFENDING NINTENDOOM’S HONOR.

            1. You sound like a jackass. You also don’t take into consideration that ores like Walmart and GameStop are still selling the regular Deluxe bundle for $300, and most of thetime that’s all they have left because the Mario and Zelda bundles are flying off the shelves.

Mathematically speaking, $249.99 is definitely $100 less than the $349.99 that launch owners had to pay for it. Technically, PortalDark is right. You’re correct too, and I’m glad you know basic addition and subtraction, but considering most Wii U consoles are $300 brand new, $250 for refurbished isn’t too bad even if it comes with NintendoLand. At least it comes with something, unlike certain powerhouse conoles that just launched for anywhere between $100 and $200 more.

        2. First of all, talking in caps, doesn’t make what you say anymore intelligent, second, read the article, the MARIO BUNDLE IS 349.99 therefore this Wii U is 100 bucks cheaper, maybe it’s not that we need math classes, you just need to go to a literary class

      1. No I’m just asking for a little help from people with experience in the industry, where to start. How is that stupid?

          1. I’ve seen worse, irrelevant comments on this site lol. I’m not asking people to look at my artwork. I’m just asking what are the steps to take in order to become a Video Game Animator. Is don’t see what’s so wrong about that…

            1. fine you want tips here

              1. have talent with your art, if you are not planning on showing people your art, how can you hope to even be considered an animator at all

              2. don’t ask for tips on sites like this, we are not professionals, and most of the people here are either, unemployed, still in high school, trolls who want to fuck with your head or just plain Nintendo fans, none of them are world renowned video game corporate giants.

              3. go to career expos, there are bound to be some companies looking for a new animator

              4. post your stuff on art sites or YouTube, maybe youll be lucky and someone will see it and offer you a job, might not be for a Video game but it’s a start and will perhaps lead to something more

              1. Umm some of are professional artists on here and get on during lunch breaks. I would say to add to his good tips, make a reel of graphics you have done. They don’t have to be published work. If you live in a Metro area, go to user groups (check meet up, adobe, etc.) Go to conventions, but be prepared to show. If you are shy they won’t give you a second look as there are way too many people looking for work, speaking for the USA at least. So show and speak up, and don’t be bothered by rejection.

  3. yeah so why would i want to buy this for $250 if it ONLY comes w/ Nintendoland Zelda is a better deal and its not refurbished. if they were $199 refurbished that would be a deal

    1. Also they will have to drop the price anyways to bring the sales back up after the hit they took in the us on sold units to try and not sink any further since they are adamant on not porting to other systems and mobile devices

  4. Where did Nintendo get these? Do people just mail in broken consoles and not expect it to be fixed and sent back? How does this even work?
