Respected Japanese news publication The Nikkei says that Nintendo is set to announce its mobile plans on Thursday. The company is apparently expected to go mobile within this year. It won’t be offering traditional mobile games, but instead will use mobile platforms such as iOS and Android to market its games and bring mini games and playable demos of console games that can only be purchased in full on Nintendo hardware. The content will be free-to-play.

It would be cool to see a Nintendo smartphone but Nintendo is focused on other things right now, such as the Wii U.
They should have bought out RIM/blackberry (they didn’t)
they should have partnered with HP to bring exclusive content and games to a webOS phone and tablet. Now hp sold WebOS.
I think their only viable option would be to partner with microsoft/nokia and make a windows phone that had exclusive apps and games from Nintendo on the phone. And maybe down the line work on a tablet.
but I think this is still a good start I know IOS is the simple option but they should turn more to customers that arnt turning away from Nintendo in the first place. IOS takes customers away, developers copy Nintendo, they make emulators that run Nintendo games, their customers avoid Nintendo products. They should focus more on windows and android honestly. Those customers are their for variety if you cater to them then they well be more likely to check out your content.

Actually they don’t, its the fact that they solely build their os for their hardware. But like I said they would only be hurting them self if they focused on IOS. They need to look to those customers who want variaty and something different. Android and windows is ware they well be most welcome. The whole point to IOS is to push away from companies like Nintendo in the first place. On android they can reach the largest customer base. And windows phone has high hardware standards for their devices. But I’m saying they they should work with Nokia on hardware and make their own Nokia phone that has exclusive Nintendo content. Which by the way Nintendo once worked with Nokia long ago. That’s how Nokia ended up making the Ngadge.

you don’t need the 3d on. you can always DISABLE it in settings incase you turn the slider up.
so you can play on the 3ds of yours (preferably xl) withoit 3d. mine get tired after a long while but turn I just slide it off.
First off eye strain is made up, it only happens when you try to hard to see the 3D. If you just relax your eyes already see 3D, so any problems with 3D are made up. In some cases people have found that it can help with eye depth problems in the first place. Second you do realize you can turn off the 3D right?

You have to look at the center of the device. Its tricky to get used to all admit. But again you can always turn it off, its not like IOS even has 3D so its not like that solves the problem

It’s not an app it’s more like the Internet. For instance I have an iPhone, what I do is go to miiverse in the Internet browser, safari, and Then you add mii verse to your home screen. So it looks like an app but it’s actually just the Internet. I use mii verse on my phone just by taping on the pic on my home screen and I made it so I’m stayed logged in.

Since microsoft entered video games, the industry has gone down hill. Competition is fine and dandy, but microsoft makes nothing all that amazing and ruined companies like Rare. They have lots of shooters, and thats about it. Forza? Please. Fable? First 1 was decent. Halo 2 was the pinnacle of the series. And it’s NOT a must have, and CERTAINLY not worth buying the system for. Microsoft has never had a true MUST HAVE game.

Ever study economics? The gaming industry is an Oligopoly. Three major companies own it. Other conpanies try to enter but fail. They have moderate control over their prices, meaning they set their prices and adjust as the others set theirs. They all have similar but slightly differentiated products.
All of this works, because of competition. If you want Nintendo alone on this, you’re suggesting a Monopoly for this industry. Nintendo would set their prices ridiculously high. They would practically stop companies dead in their tracks from opening shop. Third parties would suffer. Not to mention, monopolistic practices are highly illegal, as Bill Gates found out.
If the gaming industry became a monopoly, it would collapse. Nintendo’s “saving work” would be for nothing.
It would be cool if Nintendo (and most console developers) approached mobile gaming with something like what Injustice did.

but let me put it this way, candy crush sage made about 5 million day on their stupid free to play puzzle game. Imagine what Nintendo could do with free to play experiences on “smart” devices like phones and tablets? They could even bring those experiences right back to 3DS and Wii U but with maybe a few weeks and extra content.
that said I think they well be going the direction of education games based on their IP, or maybe games that bring some basic interactive content to those devices. And wile that’s possibly interesting and all that, I think that their time could be better used to work with WB/cartoon network and Netflix to create showed and films based on their IP.
they should also buy Sega and platinum games, it well give them some good T and M rated IP, as well as a huge library of games to do what they want. Then have Sega focus its efforts in the US and Nintendo can focus on Japan based content. So they can make games from both places. Sega can still make games for Xbox if it really wants to use Kinect or smart glass. Platinum can focus on new and interesting IP ideas, and Sega can also bring over its games as exclusives, such as sonic, vactor man, house of the dead, golden ax, super monkey ball and many others as exclusives.
they should also rebrand virtual console in 2 ways. 1) they should open up a studio that just resizes old games to HD, fixes performance issues and then add then to the VC Library. They can make it a 8$ a month service and allow you to play any game, use cloud saves, trade saves between friends, and it can go from GB to DS, and NES to GameCube. (with compatibility based on your system of choice). Cloud saves would allow you to pick up ware you left off on a different system. They could bring this to smart devices as well and let it work as a simple cash flow. Then they can still sell those games to customers who just want a single game. 2) they build ground up version of old games, they have the same layout as the original but now have full 3D modeled environments, all new lighting and physics effects. They would also have updates for online, touch, motion, exe.
finally they should work with lego. The “maker” culture is a really big deal. If they were to partner with Lego (maybe Intel as well) they could bring things like 3D printing, 3D modeling, and programing to the very day consumer.
still in interested to see what they can come up with to bring customers from ios, windows phone, and android to their systems. I think the free to play thing is a good idea, if they could make the next angry birds, or candy crush and make it free to play. Their is no excuse for them not to dominate the market (by a lot)

I type this with tears in my eyes, if Nintendo thinks this is the only way for them to succeed, then they’re dead WRONG! I’ve send them countless emails about my strategy but they decided to ignore me (a huge Nintendo fan since 1998).

I have mix feelings of this idea, it could widely expand there current market audience, and add in more hard core gamers. but why on phones, phones have shit graphics, and shit games with ed, on a terrible controls. I rather play my Mario and Zelda the way its meant to be play, on a Nintendo system, and not a crappy phone app, where it crashes like a billion times. No no! Sorry phone fans but you can keep your shity mine craft and shity apps, Leave Nintendo the way it is.
It can be both a good thing and a bad thing, Nintendo’s newer system it has not even came close to its successor the wii. Nintendo keeps given all these promises, oh where going to sell 9million by march, nope they over exaggerated that number, its more like 2million, that’s a huge chunk of there yearly profit wasted, I love my wiiu, but lately Nintendo has become a huge disappointment, We finally got unepic but no multiplay, what a waste of time to wait for a supposedly good indie game. We wanted Metroid prime 4 but no instead they give us another Donkey Kong country game, which is still great, but we as the consumers wanted more, and they once again fail to deliver, as well as the whole wifi traffic boulder dash with pokebank! wheres your true audience, the kids from the 80s and 90s who grew up to you guys, or the new gen of spoil rotting kids, who think call of duty is the best franchise ever. Yea I went there!
if they do anything mobile … they will see blinding and life-changing success that will changing Nintendo FOREVER …
no matter what they do on mobile, they will quickly do BIGGER!!! …
whatever happens, no matter what strategy they take, they will see success and they will think their careful planning was the “correct strategy” … yet, they would be wrong again. the fact is, doing anything mobile will help them in every respect … financially, sales of N-Hardware, social sharing/talking etc … this is great news and you will all agree in short-time when you see that this ultimately benefits US more than anyone else.
I hope Nintendo makes like a Nintendo Network ID App that let’s you view Miiverse and other stuff like the eShop and let’s you kind of like text your friends that you have added on the Wii U or 3DS. That would be cool but I don’t see it happening.

They should of made the wiiu mobile, like whats the point of a game tablet if you cant take it like 5 feet away from you. Its battery life is the worst, not having gamecube controllers, to be compatible, was another bad idea, even though game cube is pretty much history, it still had Nintendo’s best controller, will the wii pro controller live up to the game cube controller, I think smash and mario kart players will, enjoy it. Still wish Nintendo would remake Mario sunshine, or make Mario sunshine 2, it was one of my favorite game cube games, seeing how well, Nintendo did with WindWaker I can see more Game cube remakes.Long live Nintendo, the Gaming gods. I support the wiiu 100% btw, and really don’t see any reason to buy a ps4 and Xboxone, sure the visuals are better, and most games will be only on those 2 this gen, but Nintendo is not out yet, I still brawl even to this day, and project M even further my love of smash brothers. It is sad a game mod is better the actual game, but damn its to good to let go, You dont even need to hack the wii or wiiu to play it thats the great part about it, fully functions 100% on a wiiu, as well as load times are cut in half, able to play online via wifi safe mode, custom stages, new game mechanics etc. Lets hope smash bros. 4 will be as good. Mario kart 8 looks amazing looking visualize, games don’t need to be bloody or hyper realistic to be consider a good game, Nintendo don’t need to go to realism, they are from Japan,I’m glad Mario and the other big tittles, and casual titles like wii sports, resort, Nintendoland, still look cartoony. It’s my type of style. Its a dark shame that more people dont support the wiiu, its got great potential all the games seems to run smoothly and look good. It’s got some hidden processing power, that could compete with this gens other systems.. Nintendo prove in the past the wii was very much a powerful machine, They prove time and time, low specs can have high end results.

I think they are releasin eshop app that lets you sign in with your Nintendo id and buy games from smartphones to your console. Eshop also has lots of trailers for Nintendo games so it would make sense to promote their system with eshop app, because people would see all those games, but they wouldnt never play them on phones, instead it would be teasin them to get Nintendo 3ds or WiiU.
