Several Zelda games have received a 10 out of 10 from Game Informer, including The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The latest installment in the series – The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds – has also received a perfect 10 from the magazine, which prompted a skeptic to question whether Game Informer was biased toward the franchise. Game Informer defended its review and said it firmly believes the game deserved its score.
“Actually, while games in The Legend of Zelda series have generally received high scores, only four have been awarded 10s,” said Game Informer. “No game we review skates by on the merits of its predecessors.
“The score that A Link Between Worlds received is a testament to the talent of Nintendo’s development team, not the history of the series.”

Just finished it last night, can see why it got a 10. =]
just finished right this moment
I just finished on your mom.
MEDIOCRE ZELDA TITLE AT BEST
No way. The game was terrific.
it’s pretty good, but I don’t think it’s a 10, it lacks some extras and some more original content, but it was still great, easily an 8 or 9.
I consider it lacking post-game content
but the only game so far havng a lot of getting post-game content(not collecting items but dungeons) is Twilight Princess and Oracle of Seasons/Ages
Oh? What does TP have for post story? I may need to crack the case open for another look!
cave of ordeals(you can clear it on midgame but is more post)
If its available before the games finished then it’s not post-game content. Theres none in TP….
well, true
I’m quite surprised hearing this coming from you, i believe everything about the game is pretty much original and innovated, except for the overworld which is understandable given it’s a LTTP sequel, I do however feel it needs more fetch quest but other than that the game deserves a 10, but that’s just my opinion..
and who the fucks argues that score?
So someone decides to take issue with what is popularly considered the best Zelda game in quite a long time?? Talk about not knowing when to choose your battles.
is called “15 minute spotlight”
I have to agree with the 10, I beat it about a week ago, 100% and I think it may be my new favorite Zelda game ever, replacing Link to the Past. It has some of the best dungeons and especially boss fights seen in the series for a very long time. Good story too, the bit of twists in it were great and the ending is very satisfying. Absolutely love it.
I would like to face Original Ganon as extra
also, getting to get permanent items as additional quests could be awesome
But aside of that, it easily replaces LttP
nevermind, i just found out how to make them permanent
Since when does a publication have to defend a review score anyway? Oh right, when it’s for a Nintendo game. How silly of me to forget the vile hatred for them in today’s industry.
Well there was that whole polygon review of dragons crown fiasco
“which prompted a skeptic to question whether Game Informer was biased toward the franchise”
Seriously, every review and opinion is supposed to be slightly biased :P
But not to the point where even facts are misrepresented for your own position.
Not that I think Game Informer is doing that at all. I’m just saying in general.
even an idiot can see they obviously have a soft spot for the zelda franchise. anybody who denies it is worse than an idiot.
Every comment after the other I see from you seems like you are getting a little butthurt
He’s butthurt by nature.
that’s probably because you can’t think straight.
My only gripe is the save bug problems this game has, I had about 95% of the game completed, started my 3DS XL up one day to see my entire save file was just gone.
Wasn’t the first time I experienced issues with saves while playing it either, it just was never a big problem like that. Quite a few times the game would roll back to periods before I knew when I had saved. Leaving me to redo tasks I know I already completed when saving last.
Occasional errors in the game that would cause it to crash at times also which seem to be related to saving again.. Like when it would save when setting up Shadow Link it crashes sometimes when doing that for me or just when finding new save locations, saving at them would sometimes crash the game.
I haven’t played it since because I really don’t feel like getting another corrupt save when I have basically completed almost everything in the game. Sigh.. So I have been waiting for a time when I am ready to waste my time some more and take a chance.
Sent multiple emails to Nintendo about this months ago and still not a single email back about any patches or anything for it. One thing I can’t stand about Nintendo, they are horrible at patching their games, half the time they simply never do.
Other than that one of my favotire Zelda games, was a ton of fun playing as far as I did.. I am just bummed I lost all my progress.
I don’t want to hear the whole SD card spiel, I know it is the game as I have multiple cards and it still did the same thing on another SD card. Great if you haven’t had the problem but other have.
I know I am not the only person who has had these problems but sadly unless it is on a mass scale Nintendo just doesn’t seem to care enough to fix it. Data deleting bugs are pretty serious in my opinion but oh well I just gotta hope it doesn’t happen again before I finish the game the next time I play it.
never happened to me, only time was with OoT on N64
aside that, no Zelda game had this issue with me
Is it downloaded or retail?
if retail, go complain, cuz afaik, i havent heard this issues before
Usually that is a problem but I have seen people with both retail and digital experience this. I have the digital version. Albeit there aren’t a ton of people having the same problem but there are enough I have come across.
Yes I have a lot of 3DS games both digital and retail and the only one recently to have any problems was only Pokemon X/Y which clearly was a problem for others. So I can assure you none of the other 3DS games on my system have had any similar problems with saving or saves just vanishing.
If it were an SD card problem it wouldn’t happen on multiple cards and it surely would affect more than just my one game if the SD card was the problem.
Do you have issues with other games? Just wondering to rule out the 3DS having the issue. Never heard of this problem for 3DS games
How have you never heard of problems with 3DS games? Every systems games has problems from time to time. Whether or not you are the lucky person who never experiences them doesn’t make a difference.
It’s just you. I’ve played the game 4 times in a row now and never once did I have a problem with my save files.
I have the same problem but one time when I went to play it, it didn’t have my saved data and when I played the game it just wasn’t the same. Link had way more hearts than when I saved it and in my items box it was filled up and I didn’t have that much stuff. My sword was different. I stared in a cave and when I try to save it, it freezes on me. I can’t do a new game anymore because it just ends up like this and I didn’t get it that long ago. It was a lot of money and a wast of money. It was the best Zelda game ever and I just can’t play it normally. I know it’s the game and Nintendo needs to fix this.
Superman 64 was awesome, 10/10
who is gonna argue with me?
IT”S CALLED OPINION
I agree. The game is phenomenal.
‘Twas a very good game indeed.
8.5, it’s obvious that they just have a thing for Zelda games :P
I’ll give it a 10 if this inspires them to bring back Hilda in the future.
“I’ll give it a 10 if this inspires them to bring back Hilda in the future.”
That is stupidest way I have ever seen to give a review .
You just reviewed my review :o
I’m no critic. I’ll give it 10 if they bring back Hilda, 11 if they bring back Lorule.
#NoLogic
Probably the least deserving of the four games. This became the first Zelda game I ever had to give back. What an absolutely boring game.
The dungeons were bland, the music was forgettable (Aside from the overworld theme) and the story was incredibly predictable.
Try harder Nintendo. You essentially passed off a SNES game as a 3DS game.
too bad youre the minority…lol
I’m aware of that. I guess Zelda standards have been lowered in recent years. What a shame.
Speaking of which, doesn’t anybody wonder what happened to that Sonic Lost World Zelda DLC? Iwata said January 0_o
Wasn’t that yoshi
That was Yoshi. Not Zelda.
9/10
that’s how i would rate it.. should anybody care? nope, it’s my opinion, it’s game informer’s opinion, it’s an OPINION.. i played it, i loved it, and that’s it..
Couldn’t have put it better myself.
9/10 for me based solely on the gameplay and exploration. The story was incredibly weak for me (and yeah, I know that this is a Zelda game, but previous Zelda games have had more coherent plots) and I had some issues with it in terms of cohesiveness and certain characters’ roles. If people want me to elaborate on what I mean, I’ll post spoilers.
This game sucks ass literally. Was made for kids so its ez peasy compared to lttp.
They do seem to be biased on Zelda games, seeing they gave freaking Skyward Sword a 10/10. I really don’t know why people like it so much. Maybe it was just me who couldn’t get into it, but personally, I think it was lacking that “special something” Zelda games usually had, that thing that made you not want to quit playing and got you excited all day about getting home and playing some more. Plus, the controls were an absoulte disaster, I hated them. The forced-on motion controls, simply terrible. Honestly, I still haven’t even finished it, and I’m a quite big fan of the TLOZ series. I can’t be the only one who was so disappointed in that game, can I?
The controls were smooth as butter, learn to play games.
It was a very short and easy for a Zelda game. I think it deserved a score of 8. It was not a bad game. Also it was above average in many areas. I felt the last Zelda handheld games were far more mediocre than this game. However, it was not a classic like the Zelda games on the N64 and Super Nintendo.
I gave it a 9.0.
A Link between worlds is a 10 to me too, the zelda games that they gave perfect scores are the greatest zelda titles.
I always gauge how good a game is by how many times I find my self consecutively playing it. Not many franchises besides Zelda do I find myself playing a game over and over. I’m on my 4th play though. I suspect I’ll play it at least 2 more times before I move on. Only Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Skyward sword, The Last of Us and now A Link Between Worlds did I play over an over until I found something new. So yea, it deserves a 10/10.
If you want to see some bias reviews, do not look further than GTA V reviews.
9.5/10 for me…
I haven’t got it yet, but I’m pretty sure it should get 10/10 at least from me.
What other kind of game are you looking for that should get a 10/10 in this day and age?
