Twitter user DaDa Rocks has shared the new look of the 2014 Sonic team on Twitter. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, have all been updated for 2014 in the forthcoming Sonic Boom which according to the Twitter user will lead to a new video game (on game consoles & mobile), cartoon show, toys from Tomy.

Tails looks like he’s gonna end up being an asshole, knuckles is on steroids, Sonic looks like a terrorist and Amy looks like a punk in the streets of New York….

Tails’ new look reminds me of Ratchet. Less than thrilled at Knuckles and Sonic’s new look.
Hahahaha at least im not the only one!! Tails looks a lot like ratchet for me i find these design ugly but of course its a matter of taste.
They are probably trying to ger new audiemce with them, kids and young teens but i think they have lost a little their personality they look a lot like classic sony platformers characters (spyro, crash, ratchet, daxter) dont know why but they make me think of sony characters xD
The only one i like is tails but well… If the serie is cool and the game is too i have no problem but nostalgia xD

Look, Sega. I kind of like the redesigns. Yes, even Knuckles. But I have to tell you something.
“Wrap tape around all the things” isn’t a “redesign.” It’s something a 3 year old does when they break into the tool drawer.

Tails and Amy look cool but sonic and knuckles just look weird…wtf

They all look a little different but nothing too drastic, I actually don’t mind the change of design and am interested to see what reasoning goes behind the change. Maybe the those are bandages because sonic and knuckles just got in a really rough fight.
Also, if the artwork is hinting at what I’m thinking they have achieved, visually this could be quite stunning. If they have managed to capture the old hand drawn 2d sonic style and apply it to a 3d world (kind of like what they were trying to do in sonic lost world but more cartoony)

honestly i don’t see what’s wrong with alternating the character appearance a little so long as you can still see that it’s knuckles .. or whoever
Get rid of the wraps and don’t magically change Knuckles’ body type… Really, do not just go changing body types. It would not be cool if Amy suddenly had balloons on her chest, it’s not cool to suddenly make Kunckles some suddenly bulky v-form from popping steroids. If you need a character with that body-type you can just make a new character, not mess around with the established ones.
Seeing “work in progress concept” at the bottom gives me some hope…
because obviously the body shape of the characters is the worst that could go wrong…

I actually like Knuckles new look. It actually reflect what he was suppose to be, the knuckle design didn’t make since for a guy with a theme that says” unlike sonic I don’t chuckle I rather flex my muscles”. This design fits knuckles idea image. Everyone complaining are just die-hards who can’t handle change in anything. All I care about if they continue to make badass music for the show and their games.

I actually like this. I just hope that the story is decent. Plus, are they changing Amy’s personality? she doesn’t look like the happy go lucky girl, more of a badass I said.

I’m actually really excited for this game. Mainly because, Sonic games need to change. Sonic nowadays pretty much sucks. Lost World was seriously an AWFUL game. So, I’m really happy to see them trying new things. Although, I could do without Attack on Titan Knuckles, but whatevs. I’ll get used to it.
