Tilmen from Nintendomination has posted on Twitter that an action based title from a known franchise will be dropping on Wii U in the near future. Tilmen wouldn’t give any hints regarding who the developer is, or when it’s coming out. Speculate away.

An “action game” from a known developer? That could be anything. I think it’s just something to get wii u owners hopes up so they don’t go out and buy a ps4 or xb1. If it is true i hope it’s something good like battlefield or elder scrolls, but i’m not going to expect more than a basic fps.
A known franchise, not a known developer. It also says “Nintendo action game” which leads me to believe its coming from Nintendo themselves, from one of their lesser used IPs.
But it’s not really clear.
If it is third party, I’d like the new Strider to make its way to Wii U.
Strider would be great but I wouldn’t say it’s “known”. I’m going to bet that it has to do with Square Enix but that’s just wishful thinking.

I think Strider is known. But it’s certainly not ‘big’. If Strider wasn’t known, it wouldn’t have seen a new instalment.
There was a rumour a while ago about another game from Square Enix wasn’t there? It was another enhanced port (Deus Ex style) if I remember correctly?

Its Bayonetta 1 remade in glorious 1080p at a rock solid 60fps with added content! Trust me it will be awesome,. Bayoneta is by far the best action adventure game i have played, the sublime combat is The best! and once experienced no other action combo based game can match it! it makes sense it if the game is bayonetta 1 to get fans hyped up for the sequel and up to speed!
PLEASE LORD LET IT BE BAYONETTA 1! even though i own it on PS3, a remade version with better performance etc i would so buy.

Hmm, if by ‘known’ he means “didn’t sell a ton, but is recognized by gamers”, then my guess is it’s Bayonetta 1, a new sin and punishment (eshop only), a wii u version of okami (I mean, capcom has ported this to other consoles already and they can’t afford to make big games since they’re nearly bankrupt), or an HD remake for a GameCube game like eternal darkness (Nintendo needs to do something with the trademark, or else they lose it). It’s most likely a port of Bayonetta though since it fits the description perfectly
Where are people getting the “Known developer” line from? It says Known Franchise… not big, but known. My vote is Bayonetta 1, since 2 will be releasing this summer and fans wanted the first part on the eShop.
