Today, Ubisoft announced Far Cry 4, an open-world, first-person shooter that delivers the most expansive and immersive Far Cry experience ever. Far Cry 4 will be available November 21 in the UK for PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.
Development on Far Cry 4 is being led by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Ubisoft’s Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Kiev.
In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.
“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer. “Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”

It would be intresting to see what Wii U can handle graphicly on a real life based game. However, 3rd party developers aren’t putting those types of games on Wii U. Do I care? No. Besides you can do all types of things on fictional games and let your imagination do whatever you want it to do. Fry Cry, AC4, COD, you have to play by the laws of nature. That’s why realistic gaming is not my first priorty in gaming. Now a Bear with a Bird on his backpack is way better or a plumber wearing a cat suit and can climb walls. Or better yet EA’s racing games and those other realistic racing games are bore if you are dead last. What’s so fun about holding down a button and using the analog stick to steer? At least MK8 you can hit people with items.

Exactly. A high end PC beats both XBoner and PS4 for third party games. With any company it’s money first though and Ubisoft likely believe the game won’t sell enough on wii u, or are just being lazy. It’s not a Wii U technical issue, but developers argue the hardware may be difficult to aquire great results. Nintendo may be the only ones to prove them wrong in future and show what can be done. Everyone is trying to mimick reality rather than great design for great gameplay these days. sadly!

But if Nintnedo wants games like that on their console, bring out Metroid, F-Zero and Starfox and ignore Mario for a few years, then mabye Ubisoft will reconsider. It’s up to Nintnedo to bring those FPS gamers to a Nintendo console.
Not only that, but it’s also up to Nintendo fans to stop stubbornly refusing to support 3rd party titles. If we want companies like WB and Ubisoft to continue bringing their games to Nintendo consoles, we have to put our money where our mouths are and buy the damn games. That’s how Nintendo fans can let 3rd party developers know that we want their games on Nintendo consoles. I have bought more 3rd party titles for the Wii U than Nintendo games (that’s partly to do with the fact that there haven’t been many great Nintendo games released for the system….yet).

Amen. I was over my friends house last weekend. He had a PS3. All I saw was FPS after FPS, after FPS. I shoudl have brought my Wii U so we could have played something totally fun and different for once.
Who said anything about Turok here? Turok Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil of N64 is better than all the FPS of this generation together, are one of the best FPS ever made, if placed in a Top 30 for example.
RE Zero and RE4 were the best Resident Evils ever created. That’s why I have not bought Revelation on Wii U because it’s not like RE Zero or Four. I like shooting games but it’s got to grab my attention in a special way. That’s why I’m grabbing Watch Dogs for Wii U. That’s why I don’t give a rats ass if Fry Cry Four isn’t not coming to Wii U. Also I didn’t buy Ghost or Black. Nothing was earth shattering. It just looked like a traditional pow pow bang bang game. Boring.
I do like GTA5 but I only play those games to start trouble and not do the missions. I love real world environment games like shooting people in the streets or fighting or stealing cars. I really don’t give a rats ass about FPS with graphics at 1080P 60FPS though. That’s why I didn’t buy NFS for the Wii U? For what? MK8 looks great and fun and all, but so did a lot of Games for Dreamcast and that still bit the dust.
Nintendo just screwed up this gen. The economy, the novelty of the Wii brand wearing off, and the severe lack of both system-selling games (first AND third party), as well and the lack of real “next-gen” specs when you consider the power that the GamePad eats up from the already less-powerful-than-others Wii U… they were facing impossible odds with all of that.
Nintendo’s only hope is to, next gen (or mid-gen this generation), release a beefed up backwards-compatible (with Wii U titles) new console that matches or better yet exceeds the specs of XB1 and PS4 (even if only slightly), without the expensive & power-hungry tablet, and line up at least a handful of AAA “must-have” titles, with at least 3 of them being exclusives and/or third-party titles.
That is OBVIOUSLY the formula that works for this gen, as Nintendo’s competitors have proven. And if they can match that, AND bring Nintendo’s great capacity for creating fun games, they may just have a shot.
