Platformer Chubbins Arrives Soon On The Wii U eShop

Chubbins will be released in the Nintendo eShop for Wii U on June 5th. Developed by indie studio Dahku Creations, the game is a platformer in which players guide a plump bunny through 40 levels across five increasingly challenging worlds – each of which ends with a boss battle. Players can revisit levels to improve their scores and set new records. The Wii U version of the title runs at 60 frames per second on 1080p resolution and supports the Wii U GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller and Wii Remote. It will be priced at $5.99.

Why anyone should care about graphics specially in these type of games in beyond me…

      1. Never heard of the GPUGPU, however I do know the Wii U has a GPGPU which is basically a mid range to high end HD 6000 graphics chip that is still used in games today.

        GAME OVER YYYEAAAAAHHHH!!!

Game actually looks like it was strategically designed. The graphics and art work are obviously lacking, but anyone who is a fan of good gameplay might be in for a treat with this game.

I am curious to see what reviews say about the game.

  2. Reminds me of Aura-Aura Climber, a bit, but Chubbins himself has a lot more personality (even if he never changes expression). Looking forward to the reviews on this one!

  3. But remember folks the words of Stranga your friendly neighborhood damage controller.. graphics aren’t everything it’s all about gameplay

    1. “Graphics aren’t everything”
He’s right, look at Minecraft, it just destroyed Titanfall in terms of sales.

    2. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

That’s why it’s called GAMES, and not GRAPHICS…

If you want to argue about how important graphics are then the movie realm is where you should go to…

        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I haven’t seen that movie yet, I guess I’ll have to watch it to see the horrible CGI…

Most movies today though has bad CGI…

Even Jurassic Park has better CGI than today’s movies…

        1. Yes, because all 40,000 of those terrible indie games on Xbox Live TOTALLY are better than the Wii U’s library… Oh wait.

I’m sorry but, you just lost the game…

          GAME OVER YYYYEAAAAHHHHH!!

I really hope that hack n slash like an idiot isn’t one of them…

But if he means more parts in the game where it is similar to big wars then bring it…

  5. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

If they make a sequel to this game, the Pokemon Spoink should be a guest character considering the Pokedex says that if it stops bouncing, it dies…

    Perfect game for it…

      1. Nintendo needs to step up their game and bring in more third party games to fill up the release schedule. The Wii U needs momentum to survive, not a Mario game.

        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Our empire does not bribe lesser forces to bring games…

We are not Xbots or Sonyans…

the only thing I want High Command to do is admit that they have been doing a horrible job marketing and making games for the Wii U…

          1. I don’t care what you say about ‘lesser forces’ or anything like that. The Wii U has the weakest lineup of games this year, not counting possible E3 reveals, and that’s only because there are NEAR ZERO third party games coming out for it. Where’s The Crew? Far Cry 4? Assassin’s Creed? Destiny? Alien: Isolation? Deep Down? If even THIS number of third party games are releasing on Wii U, it would easily have at least 1 game per month. People would actually trust that Wii U will have a solid future, and they would buy it in anticipation of even MORE games, third or first party. That’s all Nintendo has to do. Not difficult, is it? If it takes Nintendo to pay to get them on their struggling console, then do it then! They certainly have the resources to do it. If Sony is losing over a billion dollars and STILL paying devs for exclusives or multiplats, then I don’t see why Nintendo can’t.

            1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Why should they pay them when they have been bashing our empire ever since the late days of the Gamecube?…

Some part of the problem is where we both agree on, the fault of High Command…

However, we constantly hear that the reason they don’t bring their games to the Wii U is because of these points:

              1. Nintendo is for kids…

              2. Nintendo hardware is not as powerful as the other 2…

Gamecube was the most powerful of its generation and still nothing…

              3. “We don’t bring our games to the Wii U because of low install base and not enough profit”

But yet they don’t make any effort to make big games for the 3DS…

              4. Nintendo fans never buys our games…

Why should we when all we get are old ports, rushed ports, bugged games and gimped versions?…

Not to mention the pointless delays…

              5. Then they are biased enough to claim that games like ZombiU didn’t make enough profit…

It sold about 670.000 units so far, that’s pretty good for a console exclusive…

              6. The countless of bashing made by Electrons and other Xbox loving developers…

              7. We rather make “games” based on realism and real world problems…

Games are made to express our creativity and inner joy, that’s why I don’t like “games” like CoD and such things…

              8. We have “unprecedented partnership” with Nintendo…

              1. Sony cut it’s divisions and closed down many buildings. It’s a sign of willingness to change, even if they don’t want to. Of course Nintendo paying third parties will be seen as a sign of ‘defeat’, but they MUST attract the COD fanboys and Fifa geeks. They are a huge part of the gaming industry, and one of the few reasons why EA and Activision is still profiting. Nintendo must accept change and either a) buy up more devs such that they have more resources to release more first party titles or b) attract third parties. Balancing 3DS and Wii U with only first parties is difficult, and will only stretch Nintendo more. I don’t believe in the ‘powerful PC like console’ strategy, and I certainly don’t want them to make a brand new console before 2018-9, but they have to adapt, even if third parties talk bullshit about them, or they’re just gonna get losses every year until either they discover a grand innovative system seller for the Wii U, or they go bankrupt, which is unlikely, but possible.

                1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

                  Sorry but I don’t agree…

If our empire “adapts” to this generation of “gamers”, the whole point of video games will be lost…

What they need to do is stop living in the illusion that all Nintendo gamers are children…

I’m sure that about 50% of all Nintendo fans are above 18 years old…

They need to cater to them with their own IPs first…

            2. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

However if High command does not show non casual games at E3, then I suggest Lord Iwata should resign at once…

      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

It seems to be a common trait among Xbots…

        Just listen to Sasowhateverhisnameis…
