Jason Schreier, one of the writers for Kotaku, has said on Twitter that Nintendo is preparing to show off a big Nintendo 3DS game at 6pm Pacific Time. There’s no hints regarding what the mystery Nintendo 3DS title might be, but some are speculating online that it could be a new entry in the Metroid series, or possibly The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. We shall have to wait and see.
For all the Europeans, that will be at 3:00 this night…

There has been so much Majora’s Mask hinting and hype around. Surely it’s that. A Metroid game would be better served on the Wii U.

Yeah but they’ve also been dropping hints that they’re not making it. Aonuma said that the ending of ALBW would tell you if we were getting MM3D. What was at the end? Absolutely nothing!
I do want MM3D. I have MM on my GameCube but I’ve put off playing it for years. That being said, I think it would be unwise to release ANOTHER Zelda when we’re still waiting for TWO new Zeldas.
Actually, you have to do the 2nd playthrough on the same file to get the Majora’s Mask reference. It’s not much but there is something “at the end” of the game.

August 14th for Japan, September 19th for Europe, & September 26th for North America. And nope. It’s a big title for both retail & digital. Don’t quote me on those dates since they are from Wikipedia but that site hasn’t really let me down yet. There is probably other sources somewhere on the internet.
And the Nintendo E3 Direct from yesterday gave us those release months for the game, so Wikipedia isn’t too far off.

Now that you mention it, hopefully it’s Metroid Prime Hunters 2 which takes place after Metroid Prime 3 & reveals the ending to MP3 was leading to this game. Then we can finally end the Prime series once & for all, so Nintendo can finally move on with the Metroid series past Fusion.
I’m new to the series with just having Prime 3 and Hunters :/ lol No offence to anyone reading, but I really don’t care about another Zelda remake for the 3DS. I like Zelda. I don’t love it.

Had same thought, hopefully so, 3d remakes included for ALL of them would be phenomenal! Perfect way to re-introduce the franchise to western territory. This would be a wonderful surprise, but we still don’t know, and I personally would still be happy with new metroid or MM3d :)

I think it’s Majoras Mask 3D because Zelda Williams was carrying a Majoras Mask yesterday during the Smash tournament.
If the game ends up being Majora’s Mask 3D, I’ll be disappointed if they don’t also reveal Majora’s Mask Skull Kid for Hyrule Warriors! I want a character that wears that mask in Hyrule Warriors, damn it!
If its Majora’s Mask 3D, please add an extra dungeon or two, more masks, and some new features such as the 7 days cycle like it was originally supposed to be. I loved Majoras Mask though, so I’m excited.
No. 3 days is way better than 7! It adds a bit of difficulty to the game if you are trying to speed run the game.
Why settle for the same game? I say have the 7 day cycle with 4 more dungeons or so, and have the original 64 game unlocked upon beating it.

No. Just no. An optional dungeon or two would be okay but entirely new dungeons with the story made longer is just a big fat no no. Nintendo is not EA. They aren’t going to completely rewrite the game to replace the original. *cough*MostWanted2012*cough*

I second this statement. IMO, Metroid was always better adapted for the big screen, even though I enjoyed certain portable games in the series (Fusion).
I’m hoping for Majora’s Mask. I never really played through it as a kid, so this would be a good opportunity to do so.
Am I the only want that doesn’t want a Majora’s Mask remake yet? We have 2 Zelda games coming already, a third one could get attention off the other 2, specially Hyrule Warriors, and there has not been a single Metroid or F-Zero game for 3DS or Wii U, while we’ve had 2 Zelda 3DS games already. So, I hope it’s Metroid, or F-Zero and they announce Captain Falcon for Smash, and leave Majora’s Mask for next year. 3 games is too much, Zelda is turning into the new Mario! But remember that at the digital event Reggie said no Mario games and the Link Robot Chicken Cartoon joked that he was the new face of Nintendo now? I guess it was to imply Zelda was the focus this E3 and prob we are getting Majora’s announced too. But I rather have something different right now!

Majora’s Mask is my favorite Zelda, & among the few games I’d buy & play again.
But I also hope the reveal will be for the rumored Symphony of the Night II. A 3rd party game, yes, but so was Devil’s Third.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the Zelda franchise, but we’ve had 2 portable games and soon another 2 console games, with a third one being developed this generation alone. Meanwhile, a ton of other franchises have yet to make their debut on the new consoles. Relax, for fuck’s sake.
As incredibly far-fetched as this is, could it possibly have to do w/ Mother 3? They made that, “give us a translation” joke, but they did that w/ starfox too and that was announced…..plus Reggie has been poked at regarding M3, and avoided denial, rather than saying “no”….

Which totally sucks! I mean it could’ve been ANY of the above named things but instead they introduce a new IP. Not saying it won’t be good, but I have zero excitement for something never before thought about, as opposed to a remake or new title in an already beloved franchise. Honestly, at this point, I am officially let down by nintendo at this e3. If they had given us more than a teaser for Zelda U, I might be able to forgive them.
I believe it’s the new IP that Miyamoto is working on for the 3DS. It’s codenamed S.T.E.A.M. apparently. It’s 10:25 est or 7:25 pacific time right now so I’m guessing it’s the new Miyamoto IP.
If only 3DS games were capable of looking “high profile”..
