If shareholders decide to open Capcom, and vote to end the company’s takeover defence, then Capcom could be taken over by a company that decides to purchase large amounts of its stock. Nintendo fans have been clamouring for the company to buy out Capcom so now’s Nintendo’s chance, if they decide to do so.

Sega and Platinum arent for sale though… at the moment. Id say Nintendo can’t afford to lose the Monster Hunter franchise and would need to act VERY quickly on this if an opportunity presents itself. Picking up a bunch of pretty solid IP’s and another studio to work on more software exclusive to the system would be great.

Just think of a Mega Man game being developed by Nintendo EAD, a Resident Evil game being developed by Retro Studios, a Devil May Cry crossover game with Bayonetta (if Bayonetta 2 turns out to be a success), Capcom vs. Nintendo fighting game, Monolith Soft possibly developing the Monster Hunter series games, and so on. Would Nintendo really have the jurisdiction to take those franchises away from Capcom even if they did own them? I mean, for example, you never see a Kirby game made by anyone other than HAL Laboratories.
I mean, they didn’t dissolve HAL Laboratories as a company, but they are a subsidiary of Nintendo which is why Kirby games only appear on Nintendo consoles and why Nintendo would have an influence on the franchises.
If nintendo owned 51%+ they would own exclusive rights to the ip’s. They would be a second party to nintendo. Nintendo has the same arrangement with game freak whom they own 54% of the company. Exclusivity on all games and owning the Pokemon franchise.

Let me point to all the Street Fighter games that took place on Nintendo Consoles: About 7 different iterations of Street Fighter II, 3 versions of Street Fighter Alpha, Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars. That’s excluding those OUTSIDE of that ONE license of CAPCOM to counter this argument that Nintendo won’t buy it.

Actually I heard capcom is making a multiplat monster hunter, so it’s exclusivity is ending. Monster hunter was originally on Sony i believe anyway. Nintendo needs to lock capcom down with either majority or buying outright.

Their mature games will be just fine. If you haven’t heard, Nintendo wanted Platinum Games to actually make Bayonetta’s Link outfit show MORE skin. Then there is Conker’s Bad Fur Day & Perfect Dark from Rare for the N64, Eternal Darkness from the Gamecube, & Devil’s Third for the Wii U. If they owned Capcom, we’d see more mature games for Nintendo consoles here in the States. Nintendo isn’t as kiddy as you & many other misinformed people think.

Umm capcom would still be a separate studio, just operating under nintendo. Considering nintendo went out and obtained devils third as a system exlusive, which is pretty hardcore and pretty MA, I’d say they would handle these “mature” ip’s just fine.
Considering Resident Evil 4 on GameCube was the BEST Resident Evil game… I’d say they would be just fine.

The reason there aren’t a lot of 3rd party multiplats on the Wii U you dumbass troll is because they don’t necessarily sell too well because of gimped features now that’s a FACT. Street Fighter 4 has been released on both the Xbox 360 & PS3 and the Wii U is at least 3 to 4 times more powerful than both of those consoles. 1. Street Fighter 4 hasn’t been released because Capcom is having money trouble. They can barely get the few games they do make out. Much less fully functional ports for all 3 consoles combined with any exclusives they make.
2. EA is being their usual self. Ubisoft is trying to make money as quick as possible so the twins (PS4 & XBO) is the way to go as shown by them delaying the Wii U version of Watch_Dogs. Square Enix is busy with the PS4/XBO ports of Final Fantasy XV & Kingdom Hearts 3 while also making Nintendo exclusive games for 3DS. Bungie has expressed an interest in making a game for Wii U, but they said they want to see the userbase increase before committing to anything.
3. Where are your facts exactly? I only saw the 2 questions you asked that I just answered.
If Nintendo bought out Capcom they’d have tons of new exclusives, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, Onimusha, Viewtiful Joe and Okami to name a few, I just for hope god that Microsoft, EA or Activision don’t buy them out or it’ll be a sad day for gaming, Capcom have been a major importance to the video game industry and don’t deserve to be bought out by company’s more greedy than they are and take away and ruin our beloved franchises.

I couldn’t agree more. These greedy companies, especially ea, are sucking the soul out of gaming. If Nintendo bought Capcom they would treat their IPs with love and care.
This would also give a major boost to the Wii U’s library, and could be the deciding factor for gamers getting a Wii U who are sitting on the fence for their next console. My only worry is that someone at ea or Microsoft might realise this and buy Capcom out of spite.

Capcom has always felt like it was a part of Nintendo, so it’d be a travesty if a company that doesn’t like you buys them. Because it was not worth it to have them any more; Yes, they needed the money but if only been the 3rd biggest shareholder of the company were enough to stop SE to make games for Nintendo and Microsoft console, I assure you, Sony would have sold his movie division before stop having control over one of the top 10 biggest 3rd party developers out there.

I hope Capcom is able to buy back their shares. Need big publishers to stay. If they keep buying up there will be no variety. People complain about Capcom but they just trying to satisfy their shareholders which is the problem. That is why you never have more than 30% of shares for shareholders.

Those are the big three Capcom franchises I’d love for Nintendo to own. They’d revive Megaman since they know there is a fanbase that really wants him back. And they’d most likely return Resident Evil back to it’s survival horror roots because they know the hardcore fanbase of the series prefers the franchise that way.

I think that it would be a better move for Nintendo to acquire Capcom based on many reasons. First is Capcom has huge library of games. And some of them are really long standing francises, such as RE, SF, Megaman, and etc. Nintendo could secure Capcom’s games to be available on Nintendo system. Second, we must acknowledge that Nintendo could use a lot of man power from Capcom to make new IPs or revive the games. Third is that Nintendo is securing its position as developer both console machine and games. I think that are the main reasons why Nintendo should buy Capcom.
Furthermore, I think that Nintendo is the only company that gives freedom to its developer to develop a game, such as Bayonetta 2. Nintendo does not forbid Platinum to make Bayonetta.
