Reggie Says Tomodachi Life Sales In The US Are Stronger Than They Had Anticipated

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime says sales of Tomodachi Life are better than they had originally anticipated. Reggie points towards the Nintendo 3DS for its success, saying that it’s a vibrant platform.

“We just launched Tomodachi Life. The Tomodachi Life numbers were significantly stronger than we had forecasted and planned. That’s because it’s a vibrant platform.”

    1. …? I’m sure it might become a new franchise for all Nintendo systems on day, but don’t get your hopes up.

  1. still on the fence with this game. is it still entertaining a few weeks later after buying it or is it like new leaf where i start to hate the responsibility aspect of the game?

    1. Meh, sort of the first, but it isn’t anything like new leaf (other than real time). I hear it gets old pretty fast. But i guess it really depends on the person. This game only has so much to offer. But what it offers is very enjoyable.

    2. I adored the game and once most my peeps were at level 20 (2 weeks) I stopped playing … It just wasn’t as interesting anymore

It’s probably because only 20% of the population is actually gay and the rest didn’t care about being able to marry the same sex.

Nintendo should not have taken that “add gay marriage” fiasco too seriously.

    1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

They should have just left the glitch that sparked the entire debate alone. Unless it was gamebreaking or ruining someone else’s enjoyment, I don’t see a problem with glitches like that. In fact, glitches like that actually increase the fun factor of the game for some people. The ones that complained about the glitch itself probably were either insecure about their sexuality or homophobic. If someone wanted their Tomodachi to fall in love with one of the same gender, not my problem.

      1. Um, the “glitch” as it was reported by the media doesn’t exist in the first place.

Yes, a glitch was fixed, but the glitch that were fixed was actually a major game-breaking bug relating to importing Miis causing the game to freeze.

The Japanese screenshots showing gay marriages? One of them was a woman who just happens to look like a man and be given men’s clothing (possible within the game even without the glitch).

  3. I love this game so much! I was actually debating whether or not to get it, but I’m glad I did. It’s nice to pick it up and play for short periods of time throughout the day and you don’t need to worry about the characters getting mad if you don’t play for a few days like Animal Crossing.

  4. Nintendo Sub-Lieutenant

I bought this on day one and have played it every single day without fail. Some people might say it gets old. But the fun factor switches back on when you throw somebody new in and watching how everybody reacts to the new resident. Everyone in my house picks up the 3DS now even for just a few minutes. This could have created wonders if it was a launch title for Wii u.
