New Wii U update is rolling out today. Single fix is Tinker Knight soft lock. 3DS patch to follow but isn't ready quite yet.

Yacht Club Games has confirmed the Wii U update for Shovel Knight will be available today. Unfortunately, the action platform title suffered from a small in-game bug that would force users to restart after causing a soft lock during the Tinker Knight battle. According to the game’s developer, the 3DS patch isn’t quite ready yet but is coming soon. However, if you’re looking for a work-around in the mean time, Yacht Club Games has given the following method below:
“Ah! Yes, defeat him with an attack other than the aerial Shovel Drop. Try when on the ground or use Mobile Gear relic.”
The California-based developer is also working on a larger patch to address common issues and concerns for all platforms, in order for a smoother run. Shovel Knight is yet to receive a specified release date for Europe.

hope it comes to uk soon :<
I Hate the Mobile Gear Relic…. Fire Rod and Knuckles all day bitches!
Hii niyce game
Anyone thinks that Shuhei Yoshida (the guy from MyNintendoNews, not the actual person) should *take a hike*? He’s such troll with no logic.
Comment edited, death threats are not cool.
aww harsh lol. Hope your not one of those psychopaths that go and kill people that anoy them on the interwebs :P
Yep agreed. He’s a blind sony pony that should *stamp the ground in frustration*.
Comment edited, death threats are not welcome here, no matter who it is.
1. That’s kinda off the wall to say that knowing Admins are watching and 2. I agree but not quite. Let karma get his ass on its own terms.
He’s a disgusting hypocrite who doesn’t know he’s a hypocrite ala stupid most of the time.
^ This kind of moderation, on the other hand, is very cool. ;D
I’m officially obsessed with this game x.x I shovel this game into my evening every day. :D
I gotta get this game. I’m hearing too many great news about it and just itching to play it. :)
Basically if you take all the best parts of Legend of Zelda 1+2, A few bits from Mario 3, a world and story that obviously had tremendous thought and care put into it, some RPG and exploration elements,.. If Nintendo were to create a new IP on par with Zelda, this would be it. If I were Nintendo, I would buy Yacht Club and this IP while they can. If Shovel Knight became Nintendo exclusive, it would be epic. (I’m glad they are not exclusive for now, everyone should get to experience this game, even if it obviously has Nintendo DNA running in it’s veins.
i have bought and played it on pc now. fantastic. shame that it still isn´t out for the nintendo systems in euroland.
Another issue with this game involves the gamepad. If you let the battery die, the Wii U will freeze the game letting you know to plug that shit in. That is a bothersome enough issue when you’re playing using the pro controller and don’t even care if it just died at the moment. What’s really bad is that it has happened to me twice and both times the game itself froze after plugging the pad back in.
I hope they’re aware of this issue.
You may need to invest in an extended battery, or USB charging cable…not just for this game, but…damn, I never let my game pad die. X.x
And with the auto save being VERY frequent, it’s nearly impossible for you to lose any progress, except the Knight’s keep you were in when your battery died.
They released an update already for a serious boss glitch, a larger update is coming soon. I’ve never seen this glitch before, but I hope for the few this has affected it’s included in the larger patch.
Tinker Knight is such an amazing battle.
Every time I read a post about Shovel Knight, I think it’s talking about shovelware.
Wow, haha, I’m pretty sure he was the first boss I didn’t shovel drop to kill. Good thing by the looks of it, I didn’t even know this existed
I finished him off with a few anchors while panicking at near death.
Wait, do you mean in the first phase or second phase? Cuz I finished him off with an aerial shovel attack just now and had to prob.
