Sakurai Showcases The Vault In New Screenshot For Super Smash Bros 3DS

super_smash_bros_vaultSuper Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has shown off The Vault in today’s Miiverse screenshot. Players can view their collected trophies collected throughout the game, as well as leaf through the album which displays pictures taken in-game. As you can see from the image above, The Vault will include your collected trophies, an album, replays, sounds, player records, and tips.

However unlike Brawl’s Vault section, Super Smash Bros for 3DS appears to be missing the Stage Builder tool. The particular mode allowed players to build their own stages from a variety of stage set pieces. Stage Builder has not yet been confirmed to appear in the latest instalment of the game, but with the Japanese release just a few days away, time’s slowly running out for this mode’s inclusion. Do you think Stage Builder could be hiding in the “Games and More” section as teased in Friday’s Miiverse update? Here’s what Sakurai said on Miiverse:

This is what the view looks like within the Vault. Your Trophies collection will start off with one randomly selected trophy. In your Album, you can view pictures you’ve taken of fighters posing. Photos taken with the 3D Depth Slider on will take photos in stereoscopic 3D, and photos will be in 2D when they’re taken with that feature turned off.

  1. I never liked stage builder it the stages that were made from it. They were too simple and uninspired in my opinion.

What I’d really like to see is a deep replay editor where can add subtltles, effects, manuplualte time, create clips of best plays etc.

Oh and longer replay time maybe 10 minutes rather than Brawl’s 5. I don’t expect all this to work on 3ds, hoping its in for the Wii U version.

  2. Cool, I’m getting the Smash album, but I’m hoping/guessing the song editor will still be in there. I could listen to Smash music for hours! :)

  3. Custom Stages will probably be an exclusive mode for the Wii U version, because I doubt the 3DS could handle a revamped stage builder mode.

  4. Yeah stage builder gotta be for Wii U only. But I’m more interested in knowing if stage builder blocks and other pieces and backgrounds have new designs and stuff. Also I hope they thought about stage builder stages being played online this time…or is the Wii U too weak? Should have thought of more power in 2008 then.

    1. It really shouldn’t matter, all they’d have to program is for a list of assets/skin/background used for the stage, then it just could load said assets from the game itself, since every game would have to have the assets on it to be usable.. I doubt it’s a matter of power.

  5. I hope power won’t have a reason to play other people’s stages and kick their asses on their own creation because Nintendo thought 3 cores would be enough back in 2008 for 2014.Wii U was too wiik to handle 100 pikmin from each player to get online. Should have thought about power back in 2008.
