The official NPD sales figures for the US have come through and they reveal exactly which titles made the top ten all-format chart in September. Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 3DS managed to chart at number four despite only being on sale for only two days of data included in NPD’s September report. Destiny was the best-selling video game for the month. Here’s the US top ten video games.

For the most part, I play on my 3DS and Wii U, and tackle just as many third-party games as I do first party. For example, on my Wii U, I’m just as much playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate as I am playing Super Smash Bros. on my 3DS.

Some guy on eBay was upgrading to an xBoxone and dumped all his 360 slim stuff and games for $200. It came to me, all in it’s original packaging, and my 3rd party problems were solved.
I can play Aliens, destiny, GTA, and All for the price of what I paid Nintendo for all their NSMB shit. I wish I didn’t have to, and My wiiU still gets some love because Hyrule warriors, but mostly it’s my 3DS and 360 now. :/

For $200 I got the newest 360 slim, and 15 games. (including GTAV.)
Traded the others for Destiny and Aliens Isolation, and my 3rd party fever is cured… For $200! Plus there are a shit-ton of dirt cheap 360 games now that the xbox1 is out. It’s like 3rd part heaven.
I did boot my WiiU to play Monster Hunter and Hyrule Warriors though.
Personally I don’t really care about Destiny but I wouldn’t mind playing it sometime…
You might like it. You can customize your initial character to be Human (borrring), A special race, or android…YES ANDROID ;D – Then level up, customizing your character with armor and weapons. It’s hard to explain, but it’s pretty fun. I’m not saying it’s THE epic game changer, but I really enjoy it.

I would’ve bought it if I was as stupid to fall for the hype and everything Bungie has previously stated would be in the game and what the game is like.
Why don’t you watch Angry Joe’s Destiny review video which he will highlight everything they said Destiny would be but never fulfilled those promises. He did, however, sight the art direction, music and gun gameplay is well done but the core mechanic of Destiny regarding story progression, gimped “next gen” experiences like flying ships to other planets being loading screens even on PS4, lackluster customization for characters, repetitive design and enemies, it gets so annoying very shortly if you had a better open mind on gaming and creativity.
I have read several reviews for the game, so I know what the majority of them criticize about the game. Most of the things don’t bother me personally, but of course there are aspects that could have been done better. But yea, no game is perfect. And honestly, as long as I personally enjoy the game, which I certainly do, the views and opinions of other people about it don’t hold much of a significance for me. I’m playing the game for myself, not for others. I bought it with my own money, not other people’s money. I don’t owe anyone an explanation as to why I play a game or why I enjoy it.
Also, I don’t think you are the one I would ask about the openness of my mind nor my creativity. Not everyone has to like the same kind of games as you, and seeing how you act around here, I’d almost say you are the one severely lacking an open mind. But what would I know.

It is way better than halo. Halo AI is like 4th graders compared to the destiny AI. Halo wishes it were Destiny. Microsoft should start coming up with a new IP.
Except Destiny AI in general is the same fucking enemies you fight repeatedly in the entire “story” and the only thing you do in the whole game is grind and horde defense. That game is WAY too lazy in design. I’m like “WTF happened to Bungie?” after I saw Angry Joe’s review. $500 million dollars and that’s the best they can do? It’s pathetic.

Destiny is not a bad game. It just didn’t live up to all the hype. I think one of the reasons Nintendo deserves so much respect is that they show you exactly what your getting without all the smoke and mirrors.
My problem with Nintendo is as of late, they have been showing ALL of what you’re getting. Smash Bros, Pokemon, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart 8, etc. all were revealed in their entirety. It’s hard to avoid all the information when every site posts it, including MNN.

Thats been bugging me ever since the Wii U launch. Nintendo has a bad habit of spoiling thier games. I knew every Hyrule Warrior character, most of the regular enemies, most of the bosses, most of the stages, most of the items/weapons, and a ton of the music before the game ever released. There was hardly anything left for suprise in that game. Honestly, it was a huge spoiler for me, and after seeing all that I really lost my excitment for the game. That is absolutly the reason I have not bought that game yet.
Smash 3DS has bored me after only a few days. Around 40 characters were revealed before launch, as well as stages, items, game modes, trophies, music, and more. Of the 12 “secret characters” that you had to unlock and discover, three were already revealed, eight were veterans, and three were clones.
I own Hyrule Warriors. I’d say buy it for $30-40, but I doubt the price will ever get that low considering it’s Nintendo. It’s not worth the $60. The last three characters you have to unlock are unlocked in the Adventure Mode, which consists of 20-minute missions that can easily be failed and have to be completely restarted. There are art panels (think StreetPass) that you can collect but it’s tedious and will take you hours of repeating the SAME missions.
And on top of that, you have to pay for content that could have easily been put in the game itself.
Well with the release of the DLC and upcoming it makes it more promising. You can unlock more costumes? :O like that suprised me.

It’s fun. It’s a FPS, MMO, RPG mash up, and, there’s lots to do. The AI is fun because they actually TRY to not get killed, and it’s very pretty, even on a last Gen 360. (whereas GTAV is fun, but looks like crap compared to WiiU games) Destiny looks nice and has great audio quality!

Fucking Battlefield 2142 did that. I see nothing innovative from these third party bastards besides reusing shooter genre, realism graphic style (BORING) and borrowing elements from other successful games. That’s not hard work. Casual gamers are the largest majority in any of the larger countries. Canada, U.S, England. It’s just the way it is. Pop culture is called “pop” culture for a reason. The stuff is “Popular” regardless of quality! We see the same in music, television, movies, books, etc. It was only bound to happen in video games as well.
Japan isn’t any better. They are just as casual, if not MORE so, then the Americas and the UK. Japan has embraced tablet gaming more so than any other country. They play those $.99 games like no body’s business which is pretty crazy.
A thing to realize is that “Nintendo gamers” are in the minority. In pretty much every country, Nintendo gamers are already in second or third or even fourth place simply because of the “Nintendo” brand. The same thing goes for Sony and Microsoft too, though. The real heavy hitters are EA, Ubisoft and all the other third party companies that thrive off the casual crowd. Sony and Microsoft realized this, which is why they have tried their best to get third parties on their console, while Nintendo has not.
It’s just differing economic business strategies. Nintendo cannot compete against the casual games, but they can exist in their shadow as gems hidden in the rough and every now and again, even the casual crowd can pick up on the gems too. This is when games like “Smash Bros” end up on top or among the top sellers.
Nintendo can only ever sell the best if it attracts the casual crowd. If not, then their games will remain a niche genre.
No, Japan’s top ten looks alot better than the U.S. or U.K.. Of course this is completely subjective, and it’s just my opinion. Rpg’s are my favorite genre, and they just don’t simply exist in the West anymore.
