Here’s Ten Minutes Of Captain Toad Wii U Footage

It’s not long now till Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launches in the United States and Japan. To help promote the game, Nintendo has uploaded ten minutes of delightful footage from the gorgeous Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on the Wii U. The video embedded above shows off plenty of gameplay footage as a Japanese woman and child plays through the puzzle based platformer.

  1. The woman and girl are so forced, fake and painful AHHAHAHA LOOK HOW MUCH FUN WE ARE HAVING PLEASE BUY.

I hope Nintendo doesn’t think it’s demographic now is women and children. The Wii days are gone. Nostalgic men are your fans

    1. Nintendo Lieutenant Kairu

They do seem forced. And they usually use super-hot girls for these kinds of things. She just looks like a mom to me. Maybe they’re trying to show which kinds of people can “also” get enjoyment out of this game.

I’ve seen worse. But it’s probably because she’s so skinny. Eat a sammich woman! Though about 12 a day might be better. I wonder how plump she could get before her husband says something…

  3. YOU MOTHER, LET YOUR LITTLE CHILD GIRL PLAY FOR ONCE. YOU GAMEPAD HOG. YOU CAN’T COOK HER DINNER ANYMORE. EXPERTS WILL NEED TO TAKE CARE OF HER, SINCE YOU CAN’T. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE GIRL CHILD HAPPY, LET HER PLAY A CAPTAIN TOAD.

  4. I’ve had my doubts since I first saw it. Now I’m sure I won’t be getting it. Nintendo’s become a bit of a money hog between Captain Toad and Amiibos, especially since they are tricking people into buying all of them by saying some of them won’t be in stock in the future.

  5. I hope the cheaper price of this game doesn’t mean that the game is super short or anything like that. Because it looks like fun. It’s about time that Toad gets his own game. I always loved Toad.

  6. Wait a minute…………was this part of today’s Nintendo Direct? Did the Nintendo Direct even happen yet?

    1. The direct is at 5pm ET. Also, the game seems inevitably short. What do you expect from a collection of little puzzles? We all know this game wasn’t meant to be anything big…it’s just a spin-off. But it does seem to have quality, of course, like all Nintendo games. I’m not getting it though. It seems too casual for me. It doesn’t seem like there will be much of a challenge.

      1. Over 70 levels was announced. And knowing Nintendo there are probably 10 or so super hard levels after that. I would say probably about 90 levels max. If each level takes you five minutes, well 90 x 5 is 450 minutes, divided by 60. So your looking at about 7-8 hours of gameplay, depending on how fast you complete each level. Some levels may only take 2-3 minutes, other may take 10. It seems like the length is pretty good for a puzzle game like this.

    1. Bro, Smash Bros. for Wii U will have the best music collection in history. I’m just hoping they have many track from Tropical Freeze. I don’t care if they didn’t remake any for Smash, the original tracks alone are so heavenly. I’m kind of worried though since no Tropical Freeze tracks were added onto the CDs. I know only a select few song make it there, but Tropical Freezes tracks are huge and stuff…

      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Much of the music in Smash Brothers games are reused from their respective character’s games…

They do not count, only original music counts so I’ll wait and see how those far…

        1. What do you mean by original music? Many tracks int he game are also from more recent games. I’m guessing Pikmin 3 tracks are there, there’s DKCR, Galaxy, and all that. It wouldn’t make sense if there’s no Tropical Freeze tracks. Heck, there’s a Mario Kart 8 Circuit with sound tracks.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I meant original music created specifically for Smash Brothers…

Like remixes of those games as an example…

            1. Ah, gotcha. I see what you mean. Yeah, I can’t wait to see what other songs they will have in store when the game releases. On a side note, I really don’t know if I should watch the direct today. I did feel pretty guilty spoiling every track in MK8 before it came out, lol.

  7. This actually looks quite good. If these are the first 3 levels of the game then we are into some very creative/zany stuff later on.

  8. This will be my final game of 2014 (not counting any possible games I receive for Christmas. Or my usual retro collecting).
