New Pokken Tournament Details Due To Arrive Next Week On NicoNico Stream

New details are due to arrive for the arcade-fighter Pokken Tournament in next week’s Famitsu presentation on NicoNico. According to Serebii, new information will be shared via the online series “Weekly Famitsu Featuring” through Japanese streaming service NicoNico on January 23.

Though there’s no hints as to what details will be given, it’s hoped the presentation will clarify what type of Pokemon – other than fighting types – we’ll see in the game, along with additional insight into whether the game will come to consoles. Pokken Tournament is currently in development for Japanese arcades only, though possibility for a console version has not been ruled out. You can watch the stream here when it goes live, providing you have a NicoNico account.

  1. Can someone explain why this isn’t coming on wiiu? Is the pokemon holdings company run separately from Nintendo ? Is it 100% Nintendo wholly ownded ?

    1. Tekken games always start off on arcade games so it would make sense that Pokken tournament does too Arcade games are still insanely popular over in Japan

    2. Nintendo and Gamefreak co-share pokemon…nintendo doesn’t fully own gamefreak. Also like Nintendo Fanman said, most namco fighters(well fighters in general) start off in the arcades since its huge in japan…sorta like a beta test to improve the console version.

      1. But Gamefreak also knows that if the day ever comes when Pokemon moves on to another platform like how Rare did when Microsoft bought them, it’ll mark the end of the franchise because Gamefreak isn’t forgettable that Pokemon succeeds best with Nintendo all these years. The possible transition risk is beyond risky and they wouldn’t take it. So I won’t count on Gamefreak switching platforms over for Pokemon anytime soon or at all.

  2. I want a remake of the first generation Pokemon games on Wii U! How cool would that be?! They should do it because the 20 year anniversary of the games is coming up!
